"Got it" he said as he exited the room in a flash. He went up the stairs, found the room and knocked on the door.

"Go away." a girl's voice echoed snappily from the other side, "I'm not talking to you. Or anyone else."

"I'd say I know he can do it, but if she's any child of Bella's...I have good reason to say this might end badly." Kyira whispered as Linas went upstairs.

Linas was a very patient person, however he could not tolerate foolishness. "Come on, I just want to talk. I won't bite" he snickered under his breath

"Very funny. Taunt the only human." she spat back through the mahogany door, "Go away."

Zane gave a half-hearted smirk, "Yeah, and she was raised by me... draw your own conclusions."

"Honey, If I have to break down this door I will." he said in a sassy but kind way

"She's doomed then huh?" Kyira smiled, Linas would get her out. He was too persistent.

Zane laughed, "Only if you're cute."

"I don't care." she snapped back in reply.

"She'll have no problems then. She's her mother's twin. And Bells had ALL the guys all over her. Marcello was in love after three minutes with her."

Marcello laughed, "Make that one."

"It was inevitable. At least you always have a part of her even now." Kyira gave a half smile, realizing that even with Bella gone she was still there with the three friends.

Marcello gave a faint smile, "Yeah. I suppose. Hell of a father I've been though."

"When you put her above yourself, then that makes you a great father. One day she'll know what you did for her."

"Fine, I'll just sing Taylor Swift's whole discography off tune until you come out" Linas replied

Bio: Riley grew up in the Appalachians, in a small coal-industry town surrounded by the peaks and wilderness. He thrived in the woods once he had awakened to his mystic abilities, and went on to explore the world, studying various spirits, plants, and animals as he progressed in his magic. In the past, he provided Bella, Marcello, and Zane with the vellum on which they wrote the Vampire Diary. He has kept in touch with the three over the years, though visits were rather sparse and random due to his roaming nature.

Silence fell from Bella's room, then the lock clicked, "It's open."

Marcello gave a faint smile, "I hope you're right."

Kyira grinned widely. "Well boys, Linas did it. He's going in."

"I knew threatening Tay-Tay would get this door open" Linas said as he walked into the hugest bedroom he's ever seen. "Tell me what's on your mind sunshine" he stated as he flopped down the the King size bed and patted next to him.

The flock was nearing its destination. The thought wasn't fully articulated to each and every bird- Riley had split himself into a good fourteen birds, but he couldn't split his mind totally between all of them. Most of the flock weren't much more than automatons, following the four or so who held the cognitive ability. Whether they had full sentience or not, they followed the others, and served their purpose just fine. As the birds descended over the Strauss mansion, they split, flitting around the house to meet in the front, before the door. The loud flapping of wings echoed through the windowed rooms the birds passed, until the mass of feathers formed a vaguely human shape on the doorstep. Feathers expanded and condensed, fraying and weaving into fabrics as the skin and bones amalgamated together into the form of a smiling Riley, primed for a visit to one of his most dear family of allies. He reached out, ringing the doorbell before awaiting an answer.

Marcello shook his head, "He'll have to ex-" Speech cut off by the doorbell, "Hold on. Apparently we're having a party today."
He opened the large oak door slightly, then gave a crooked grin and pushed his red-brown hair off of his brow, "Riley!"

Bella sat down, pulling her legs up to her chest, "This whole thing is stupid. Dad inviting all these people over so they can all sit around and mope about mom... I barely knew either of them, and everyone keeps telling me 'it's okay to cry', but I have literally zero feelings for the woman. What, now that she's dead, are we supposed to pretend we're just some happy family now? I literally can't even... ugh." she threw herself back into the pillows, long blonde hair falling over her face.

Riley smiled wide, his hand reaching out to clasp around Marcello's forearm, gripping it as he shook it slightly. His other hand came down on Marcello's shoulder, patting it as he began to speak. "It's been a long time my friend." He said before looking up and around the room, taking in the grim faces standing about. His expression drained, brow furrowing as he brought his hands back to his side and looked to Marcello. "It seems I chose a poor time to visit... what happened?" He asked.

"No one is asking you to pretend about anything. Your mother dying is a big deal to them. They just want to grieve together instead of being separate. Why don't we try to go downstairs and talk about it?"

Marcello's smile wavered, "Bella... is no longer with us."

Bella shook her head, "No. I'm not going down there."

Riley blinked a couple times before his eyes lowered a bit, frown overtaking his expression. "Oh, no..." He said with a grave countenance. As a mage who specialized in Life magics, he greatly understood the fragility of life. Isabella Strauss, however, was far from fragile. "Was it swift?" He asked in a sullen tone.
