Zane gave a faint smile, eyes glancing down at her lips, then a smirk spread as he met her eyes once more, "So... Would you punch me if I kissed you?"

Kyira couldn't help but laugh. She had almost forgotten how violent she used to be.
"No, I don't think I will."

Zane held her cheek in his hand, tilting his head and gently brushing his lips against hers in a tender kiss. He let his lips linger just above hers for a moment, just a breath between them.

"That took you a hundred years to finally do Zane Stevens." Kyira whispered. Her face flushed.

He blushed, looking down with a chuckle, "Yeah, well... I've had to reassess my priorities lately."

Zane leaned forward again, giving her a second kiss, equally as tender as the first, "I'm sorry I couldn't save her. I was too late..."

Linas was feeding when he felt the sense. His Maker was grieving for some reason. He dropped the person, thanked them, and caught the nearest taxi cab to the location of his Maker. He pulled up to a mansion and knocked on the front door.

"Blaming people won't bring her back. All we have left is our family." Kyira's smile on her face soon faded though when she heard Linas' thoughts at the front door.

Marcelo and Zane both looked confused, "Maker?" Marcelo asked, "And how did he find us? This place is removed; off the grid. Zane and I went to great pains to make this place undetectable."

"I've yet to figure out how a Royal could turn a human vampire. But...I managed to do it. The only reason he found me was because from day one there is a strong link between our minds. He knows everything I feel. He will know when I die."
