Kyira looked at Zane with a sneaky look in her eyes.
"Well Bella, don't tell anyone this, but I snuck Zane away for some alone time...and we did not do that!"

"What is 'that'?" Bella asked nievely. She sounded as if she hadn't the faintest idea what Kyira was talking about.

"Remember that talk we had a few weeks ago, about birds bees and hot dogs?"

"Why would you do that? As far as I know, you don't want a kid." She said in a tone innocent as honey.

"True, I already have a full grown kid who eats my kitchen out every other night."

"You do?!" Bella shouted as if she had no idea. "Since when!"

Kyira shouted with a laugh.

"Oh..." Bella said softly. Kyira could just picture her blushing crimson.

Kyira grinned.
"Bells, tell Marcello to take you home, but park about a block from the house and we'll call you when it's safe to drive into my drive, alright?"

"Alright." Bella chimed, "See you then!"

Kyira turned and smiled at Zane.
"Ready to go back to the house?"

Zane nodded, "So, do we tell or keep this between you and me?"

"A few personal secrets can't hurt, can they?"
Kyira smiled tenderly and took Zane's hand.

Zane gave her hand a light squeeze, "I guess they can't."

"This one won't, it will more likely protect Bella."

Zane nodded, "Right. Mission uno: protect Bella." He smiled.

Kyira smiled and leaned over to kiss his cheek.
"Exactly. She's my first priority. As long as she wants to be..."

"I admire your affection towards her." He nodded, "It's a best friend who happens to be your mom kind of love."

"That and she was my first real friend to be honest. And I can't let that go...I'm probably a bit clingy..."
Kyira turned her head to the side, a bit ashamed that she seemed to stick to Bella like glue from fear of losing an only friend.

"I understand." Zane nodded, "You two are close. It's cute." he smiled an opened the car door for her.

Kyira sat down and blushed lightly.
"Cute huh?"

"Mostly just you." He shrugged playfully, shutting the door and getting in on the driver's side.

"Your right. Cute is for babies. You are beautiful." He kissed the bridge of her nose and started the car.
