WWII: The Legacy of the Screaming Eagles: R.I.P. 1
WWII: The Legacy of the Screaming Eagles: R.I.P. Screamingeagles

Okay yeah this is a world war two role-play. This role-play is based on the 101st airborne division. This role-play first takes place At basic training at camp Toccoa in the U.S. From there, we head to England for the last phase of our training. after that. we go behind enemy lines for the Normandy Invasion. From there we follow the course of the war. We are the first paratrooper unit, Screaming Eagles. If you are a girl you must be one disguised as a guy, since girls weren't in the military then. DON"T BE AN OFFICER! now there are several squad positions open, so there is room for everyone and then some.

Squad Leader (staff sergeant): Jason Amaroq
Is the Leader of the squad.

Assistant Squad leader (Sergeant): available
Takes over should anything happen to the squad leader.

Squad corporal (corporal): available
The third in line for command.

Medic(s): Shawn Foxx
Administers first aid on the battlefield and has a red cross on their helmet.

Sniper: Bella Strauss
The best shot. is the only one with a scope.

Radio carrier: available
Carries the only link between the squad and the command post. this position is often a target for enemy snipers.

We also need some normal squad people. THIS RP WILL BE EXTREMELY BLOODY. IF THAT WILL MAKE YOU SICK DO NOT JOIN!

WWII: The Legacy of the Screaming Eagles: R.I.P. Oldbella
Name: Isabella Strauss
Alias: Isaiah Strauss
Age: 18
Position: Sniper
Bio: Bella was sixteen when the war started and immediately started working as a nurse. She learned to fire a weapon from her older brother, Isaiah, who recently struck ill after signing up to fight. Bella, who was actually a much better shot than he, joined in his place to spare him the trip when he was so ill. He died the day after she arrived. Bella has an identical twin sister that is helping her convince the others she is her brother by writing her letters as if Bella were there older brother.

((I hope you don't mind me accepting myself, but I'm an admin and have nothing better to do.))
Bella adjusted her sack of belongings on her shoulder, trying to avoid looking anyone directly in the eye as they stared at her. She took a deep breath, then looked straight ahead of her: now she was a he.
I am Isaiah Strauss.
He thought to himself.
I have to fight to protect my family and country. I don't have any other options.
He put aside the fear that he would be discovered as a she and fought through the crowds to get to the room where he was staying. With lots of other boys.
Let's hope I do my brother justice.

Name: Shawn Foxx
Age: 20
Position: Medic
Bio: Shawn was 17 when he signed up for the war. He became the squad medic when he first realized that he was better with helping people medically then he was with just guns, after serving a year in the war. He soon became one of the fastest medics in the war and the fastest in the squad. He'd promised himself, that after the war was over he become a doctor at a hospital in his hometown.

(both accepted and i believe bella is the one who added the piccy lol))
Name: Jason Amaroq
Age: 22
Position: Squad Leader
Rank: Staff Sergeant
bio: Jason was one of the first people drafted for the war effort. He quickly showed great skill at commanding when he had to take over in a heavy combat zone after his squad leader was killed. He then signed on for the experimental paratroopers after proving himself as a green berett. Back home, he was close to going pro for baseball. He is sometimes a bit hard on his new recruits but only because he know firsthand it will only get a whole lot harder when they enter live combat.d

((now just an fyi i'll use a lot of military terms when jason talks but i'll expllain what he means))
Jason walkd into the barracks where his squad would be staying. Seventeen boys, though most will be in another unit before the day is done. "TOE THE LINE SOLDIERS" He bellowed. this command ment that they were to have their toes on a line of tile that was even with the foot of their bed. he looked over his soldiers. most he could already tell wouldn't last a day. "now as a few of you may know, I am Staff Sergeant Jason Amaroq. I am your squad leader for now. Every day here, we will go for a ten mile run up and down that mountain that looms over this camp. Anyone that fails to complete that run, or any other part of training here, will immediatly be kicked out of the screaming eagles and placed in a normal infantry unit somewhere else. You will adress me as Sergeant, or Sergeant Amaroq unless i give you permission otherwise. I'm sure some of you already think i'm a hard a** but let me tell you right now, it is a whole hell of a lot worse once you get into combat." he said pacing up the isle and getting a good look at each of his recruits. some looked a bit too feminine but he just assumed they was momma's boys. ((bad grammer intended))

'Isaiah' did as she was told, standing straight and proud, trying to cast off her feminine appearance. She saw a few boys snicker at her, but paid them no mind as she watched the Sergent. Just ten miles? She could do that easy. Her brother and her used to race through town all the time, usually more like twenty miles. Not only could she do it, but she could do it easily without breaking a sweat. And she expected hard. She didn't just join in her brother's place because she felt like it: she joined to prove to herself and her sister, Isadora, that she could.

"now let me just clarify, it's ten miles going almost straight uphill, then another ten after a short rest going down a different path. he walked up to Isaiah. "Are you the so-called sniper that is assigned to my squad?" he asked very close to her face. he wasn't being menacing right now. "you better be tough. i only have one sniper aside from myself. if you fail to stay in this program you can bet i won't be happy." he said standing up.

'Isaiah' saluted him, "Yes sir!" she said firmly and confidently, using a deeper voice than her own. Still, she sounded like a young boy, but that couldn't be helped. She was a woman, after all. She shouldn't even be there.

Jason gave him one heck of a glare. "did you not hear me five seconds ago? I said adress me as Sergeant not sir. you adress officers as 'sir'" he said. "and only salute me when i give you an order. when i'm asking you a question you don't salute" he said correcting every little mistake she had made in five seconds. "i'll let those mistakes slide but the next one that does it will have to clean the latrines" he said walking down the line. he came up to two boys, barely 18 by the look of them. "what are your names?" he asked looking between them. they snapped to attention, and rendered no salute. "I am Private Monroe Dawson, from Memphis Tenesse sergeant." one said quickly. the other followed suit with, "I am Private Carlos Tuhop, also out of Memphis sergeant amaroq" he said. Jason nodded. "good you guys figured out how to do it right" he said loud enough for everyone to hear.

Isaiah's face didn't change, though she was a little sore that she had been called out on the first day. She was determined to make it here, weather he wanted her to or not. Besides, she probably got what she deserved for being a little cocky. It was his job to push them to the limits. And Bella was determined to exceed them now more than ever.

Jason looked at them all. "now hurry up and get your uniforms on. that hike i warned you about starts in ten minutes. be formed up outside the baracks in one line by then or you might as well pack your bags because you are gone" he said walking out, leaving many to scramble for their shoes and other items.

Isaiah almost frowned. She forgot that she would have to dress and undress in front of other men. Thankfully, she had on an undershirt and had 'the girls' bound tight against her chest where they just looked like muscle. Unless anyone tried to touch them. She changed quickly, trying not to draw any attention to herself. She knew that everyone had already been spending most of the time making jokes about he looking like a she, which she would take as a complement on a normal day, but not here. It was just nerve wracking.
Thankfully, as a woman she had a lot of experience changing with complicated outfits fast. She was the first one outside.

Jason watched her. "good you got out first." he said. "how much do you weigh?" he asked. it seemed like a random question but the rows of huge packs behind him may just clue her in onto why he asked such a 'random' question. there was a bigger pack right in the middle of them, three times the size of the others. it had Amaroq, sewn onto the back.

"95 lbs, Sergent Amaroq." She said quickly. She knew better than to wonder as to the reasoning behind the questions.

Jason smirked and laughed. "oh dear this hike will be a problem for you then" he said as the rest of his squad came out, just under the limit. he held up one of the packs in one hand. "this pack weighs exactly 100 pounds" he said to them all. "you will carry it on your hike. and don't think i'm going hard on you. i could make you carry mine, which is three times that" he said. he helped them get the pack on. he saw more then one almost collapse under the weight. once they were all geared up he slipped his own on. "get going now. i'll be waiting at the top for you" he said smirking.
"oy sergeant i bet me and monny could beat you up there." carlos said smirking.
"very well carlos. we'll make it a race. it's a straght line up that mountain. anyone that can beat me gets double dinner rations" he said. "now go" he said. he gave carlos and monroe a good twenty second head start. they were fast, but the way jason shot off, even weighed down, they quickly realized he was not to be messed with. when jason got passed them carlos's jaw almost hit the dirt. "how the hell can he run that fast? that pack is huge!" he remarked. monroe grabbed his friend's collar to keep him moving. they still had to get up there in under ninty minutes. the record time up there even with a standard starting pack was 60 minutes. jason usually got up in 75 minutes with his 300 pound pack. with the smaller one he could probably do it in 45 easy.

Isaiah grunted under the weight of the pack, but pushed herself up as fast as she could go. She still managed to get only a few seconds behind Carlos, but it was a struggle. She was soaked all the way through her clothes with sweat, but thankfully she was a good enough cook that she could even make the food they were served here good with the right stuff. She was picky, so she had brought enough for a few months with her.

Jason nodded to carlos, monroe, and isaiah. only four others made it. many collapsed along the way. when teh half hour was up jason relieved them of their packs and sent them to be relocated to another unit. Jason walked back to them. "this is what t takes to be paratroopers. you seven passed the first test. this test will come every morning. more weight will be added over time." he explained. "go ahead and get some chow at the mess hall. you aren't timed on the way down. once you're finished eating meet me outside for our shooting practice" he said as he started walking back down.

Isaiah paced herself on her way to the mess hall, careful to preserve her energy for whatever the sergeant had in mind for later. She didn't make any strange faces at the food, but put a few of her own spices in it and ate. She hadn't just made it edible, she had made it delicious.

Monroe and Carlos sat themselves on either side of her. "i can't figure out how they expect us to eat this stuff" carlos said, as usual being too picky for his own good. "just shut up and eat it. this is probably better than what we'll get in combat" monroe retorted. Jason sat at a table off by himself, the same table he always occupied. He ate without question. he knew combat rations weren't nearly as good.... if it coud be so called, as this food.

"Here," Isaiah handed them a handful of her spices, "This should drown out the taste." She had always been picky, too. It came from growing up rich.

they both spread the spices on their food and tried it, even carlos, who was known to hardly eat anything, was digging in now. "how did you know this would work?" carlos asked looking at her. Monroe nodded, his cheeks puffing out a bit from stuffing in more then he could chew at once. Jason finished his meal in silence and walked outside to wait for the rest of his squad.

"I live with all women." Isaiah shrugged, smiling pleasantly. She liked that her cooking abilities seemed to be making her friends. She was the Sergent leave and quickly wrapped up, not at all interested in being late for shooting. It was one thing she knew she would do well in.

Jason watched as isaiah walked out. "you finished rather quickly" he said watching him. he picked up a rifle, bayonnett already on it. this was his rifle. He picked up another without the bayonette and handed it to isaiah. "i guess now we'll see if you are any good at shooting" he said waiting for the others to show up.

Isaiah caught the rifle expertly, not flinching back like a few did when something was thrown at them. She could almost feel her brother's hand on her shoulder the first time she caught it like that. The way he laughed, the happy mirth in his voice, it rang of an unselfish pride. He had told her as he was teaching her to shoot that he never wanted his sister to worry about some guy catching her alone at night. He wanted her to be able to defend herself. And with all the other boys in their town running around, she had plenty of competition. She had always been eager to learn and a good student. She could almost pass as one of the men who would travel around with a bunch of pistols shooting all those clay pigeons out of the air without taking time to aim and still only having to use one shot on each one. Actually, she could do that when she felt like it. Often times, her brother would show her off to his friends by tossing a nickle in the air and having her shoot a hole through the middle.
"Yes, Sergent Amaroq." She said quickly, trying not to smile.
