Vampire Diary Ch 6: Cirque Demonic

Zane looked up, "Hm? Oh, yeah... I'm fine... Just giving my wings time to heal. And how about you?"

"Tired,I haven't slept since Bella's funeral." Kyira said as she stretched her arms.

Jonathan smile "I don't think any of us can Kyria"

Zane nodded, "Well, you should try to. I'm sure Kalvin could induce it or something."

"Oh the vampires probably can't. Royals can...but we don't have to for very long. Maybe 2 or 3 hours. We're good for a few days after that." Kyira said to Jonathan.
Kyira turned back to Zane, "I'm sure he could,but I'll fall asleep on my own. You should rest too,you're wings will feel better if you atleast try."

Zane nodded, "I've been trying. Nothing much comes to me except this song that's been stuck in my head for days..." he chuckled, humming.

Jonathan looked at Zane and chuckled a little bit "what song is it?" he asked

"I made it up. Just one of my things." He smiled.

Jonathan returned the smile. "It must be nice to be able to make up your own songs just like that"

Zane nodded, "I don't know what it's like to not be able to. It's just a gift, I suppose."

"Song with just a melody or does it have lyrics too?"

"Lyrics, too. I finished while you and Kalvin were getting the box."

"Not to pry or get full details,but what would you say it's about?"

"This one? An old friend." He smiled, humming again. "It's finished, if you wanted to get my guitar, I could play it for you."

"I'd like to hear it actually," Kyira said with a smile as she went to get his guitar. ((I had to refrain from typing gitter... ): ))

Zane smiled, taking it, "Thanks." he said, starting tuning it. "The lyrics are a little rough, so I apologize." he started playing some softer chords, humming along at first, then singing, "Can't you look back/to that playground/where two little kids/pushed the other kids around/We were the best of friends/to the very end/I never thought kids/could love then/She's got a smile/that I can't seem to find/that sparkles with mischief/like that childhood rhyme/My best friend is growing up/further and further away/from that playground/where we used to play/I can only watch, as she outgrows me, too/But I'll take comfort in knowing/I'll find my best friend in you." he played a little longer, then sang some more, "Come back to me/so my heart can mend/For I fell in love/with my best friend."

"That's...wow,it's a good song Zane." Kyira said softly.

Zane bowed his head lightly, "Thank you. I'm glad you like it."

"And you did this song while Kalvin and I were gone?"

Zane nodded, "I had it in my head a bit before you left, but I actually did it while you were gone."

"I see..." Kyira at the moment was a bit confused and also obviously at a loss for words. ((Yeah that's how this Kyira is,confused and not knowing what to type. >.<))

Zane nodded, "I'm glad you like it." He smiled, blushing a bit and playing his guitar. That was Zane-speak for "it was for you".

Since Cirque was gone and the tent too,Kyira's mind reading abilities were back so she heard whatever Zane was thinking at the moment.
"I'd better go rest. Anyone else who wants down time can join me,but don't take that pervertedly or I might hurt you."

Zane nodded, "We all need to try and sleep, at the least."

Jonathan agreed "We need to try and rest a little bit"
