Vampire Diary Ch 5: Prince of Darkness

Janzelle made another confused face, "Why did he leave?" she asked, "He was nice to me..."

Adrian shrugged and patted the hay next to him. "You see, sis; he had a crush on Bella. Now that we're getting a littly chummy, he's getting mad." He said.

"What's a crush?" Janzelle asked.

Jason kept wandering around, mostly singing quietly to himself.

"It's when you have an emotional, or physical I suppose, attraction to someone." He said.

Janzelle nodded, "Like you and me?" she asked innocently.

"No," Adrian began. "You and I are siblings, that's different." He said.

Janzelle nodded, "Oh..." she blushed a bit.

He nodded. "Sorry... I didn't explain that well."

Janzelle shook her head, "You explained fine, I just misunderstood."

He pursed his lips slightly. "So...."

Bella moved closer to Adrian as Zane stood, "I'll be back."

Jason sighed and looked up at the sky, singing quietly, "I found God... on the corner of first and Amistad... where the West, was all but won..... All alone.... smoking his last cigarette, i said where've you been.... he said ask anything."he trailed off before singing louder out of nowhere. "Where were you.... when everything was falling apart..... all my days..... were spent by the telephone, that never rang, and all I needed was a call, that never came. On the corner of first and amistad" he sang. He was actually quite a good singer, yet no one had realized that yet, not even zane. he kept his singing abilities hidden, a small bit of self consciousness he had never overcome.

Zane started playing his guitar along to Jason's singing.

the second he heard someone else he shut up instantly. he didn't like people to hear him singing, especially his sad singing. he always thought he sounded horrible. He shifted into a wolf and took off at a dead sprint.

Zane caught up to him, "It's just me, Jason." he laughed, "I thought you needed some accompaniment."

Jason sighed. "sorry but i'm not a good singer" he said still in wolf form. "as for accompaniment i'd rather be left alone for awhile" he said trotting off.

"You're good." Zane nodded, "Better than I am."

"not like it matters" he muttered. "just please leave me alone for awhile' he said still trotting away with a heavy sigh.

Zane shook his head, "You're my best friend. I'm not going to leave you alone."

"just leave me please" he said sighing. "I just need some time to be with my thoughts" he said quietly. "No matter what I try, nothing ever helps Zane... Just leave me the hell alone." he said suddenly shooting off so fast he lost zane in the bushes.

Zane sighed, sitting down at the base of a tree as he finished his song.

Jason sighed, slowing to a walk, his tail hung low as were his ears. "i'm probably better off alone anyway" he muttered, lifting his head as he caught the scent of something big.... and very dangerous. he took off at another run following the trail that was leading back to the barn.

Adrian smiled and slid his hand down to her hip.

A large creature appeared in the barn door. it was a giant snake with arms like a man. this creature was the size of a small tree. "ssssso thissss issss the keep of the diary... i am not impresssssssed" it said striking out like lightning. it's strike was just inches from bella. "fangs off snake." Jason growled, holding onto the creature's tail. he turned and threw the snake out of the barn. "might want to move little wolf. i might getssss you insssstead of the girl" it said smirking. it did not expect any demon to protect a human, so it lunged intending for jason to move away. instead it bit into jason's crossed arms. "bring it on snake" he said growling to keep himself from screaming. both of the snake's large fangs had gone through his arms. "DIE" he yelled as he gripped each fang and ripped it out of the serpent's mouth, tearing his own flesh in the process. he shoved one fang up through the creature's skull, the other through the heart. the snake's body sputtered before falling to the side dead. Jason was panting to keep from screaming. both of his arms had a hole that went all the way through now. "i guess I should be glad the fangs went clean through" he muttered. "at least this way the poison won't kill me" he said gritting his teeth to the pain as he ripped the bottom of his shirt to try and fix his own injuries, not even looking back at the others. it wasn't easy for him to come back like this.
