Kyira, Bella, Marcello, and Zane: How It All Began

"Well, now you see why it's a good thing I have three freezers and a small pantry downstairs."
Kyira laughed as she handed Bella another bag of potato chips from her cupboard.
"Now please try to eat these slowly."

"But it's not fun to eat slow." Bella pouted and shoved a big handful in her mouth.

"Maybe not, but it gives me enough time to make you more food."
Kyira pulled out a large tray of fudge and set it on a high counter to cool. While that cool she started making home made pizza bagel bites and carmel corn, with a yummy fudge dipping sauce.

"Ooh! Dessert!" Bella smiled, then lunged for the fudge. She quickly dropped her piece and began blowing on her hand, "Ow! It's hot..." She pouted.

Kyira swiftly smacked Bella's hand and pushed her into a kitchen chair to sit.
"No, not until everything else is done. You can wait."

Bella crossed her arms over her chest, then sighed and pulled out her cell phone as it rang. She quickly answered it, "Hello, Dianne!" she paused to let Dianne speak.

Kyira tensed as she heard the name.
"Damn...not her..."
Kyira finished the rest of the candies and snacks and set them up in the living room.

Bella chatted with Dianne until Kyira came in with the food, then she hung up on her without saying goodbye and ate, ignoring Dianne's persistent calling until she was sure it was all gone. "Sorry, food was here." Bella explained to the red-head.

Kyira sighed and rolled her eyes. Keeping enough food to last through a movie. It was hard enough keeping food for herself.
"Damn Bella..."

Bella laughed and looked up, "It's OK, Kyira. I'm good for an hour or so." she paused, "Yes, Kyira. What's wrong with that?" pause, "Dianne! You cut that out!" pause, "Well, I don't like it. If you are going to be mean like that, I don't want to talk. Bye." She hung up and wiped a tear from her eye.

"What did she say this time..."
kyira closed her eyes and prepared for the worst.

"She said you were a bad influence on me and a few profane things that I won't repeat." Bella sniffed and wiped her eyes on her shirt sleeve.

Kyira gave Bella a big hug and smiled.
"Don't feel bad, she's just jealous because I'd die for you and she's too chicken to."

Bella's face came up in alarm, "I don't want anyone to die for me! You all are so much better people than I am..." Her dark green eyes shook like she was going to burst into tears at any minute.

Kyira hugged Bella tighter and laughed.
"I doubt it'll ever come to me having to die for you Bella, don't worry."

Bella sighed, relieved, "And if it does, you won't. You will let me die and keep yourself safe." her tone was so serious, it was hard to keep from laughing.

"Oh you wish."
Kyira let go of Bella and sat back into the couch, starting one of the movies.

Bella's eyes were locked on Kyira, an expression of horror on her small face.

"Bella, anyone kills you successfully, it's because I wasn't around to stop them, or die for you. Never forget that."
Kyira smirked a bit.

Bella smiled, glad that Kyira cared for her, even though she wasn't sure about how she felt of Kyira dying for her. She didn't feel like an important enough individual to warrant dying for.

Kyira sighed heavily and ruffled Bella's hair. She leaned back into the couch, grabbing a pillow and started one of the movies.
"I'll probably fall asleep during this you know..."
Kyira stifled a yawn.

"If your tired, sleep." Bella urged, "Don't stay awake just for me. But, you do have to watch 88 Minutes. It's incredible."

Kyira nodded as she felt herself slipping away to the sleepyness that overtook her. Soon she was sound asleep on the couch and hugging the pillow close. The noise from the TV was in the back of her head.

As soon as the movie ended, Bella rested her head on the arm of the couch, slowly drifting to sleep, not making a sound or a movement all through the night.

When dawn broke, Kyira was still asleep, but the light was making her restless. She tossed and turned until she finally gave up trying to stay asleep and just woke up. She scratched her head and walked into the kitchen. She started a pot of coffee and sat at the table, head in her hands as she groaned softly.
