Vampire Diary Ch 2: Now or Never

Adrian looked at her. "How what?"

"How things got better now?"

"You know that childhood thing? It's over. That's how." He said.

Bella nodded, shivering a bit in the cold outdoors, "Well, I'm going to go back inside before I freeze to death. If you need me, ask Zane. He'll know where I'm at."

Adrian sighed a bit. "All right, will do. I'll be out here if you need me. Oh, uh, if Nathan asks where I am, tell him I went back to London."

Bella smiled a bit, "Still trying to get rid of him?"

"Past one hunedred fifty years...." He mused.

Bella laughed, "He can't be that bad. I think only Riot is."

"The one that never shuts up? You may have a good point there. But, anyway, are you staying or going? I could keep you warm if you wanted to stay. Not in a perverted way, if you prefered that."

Bella shook her head, "It's alright. I need to sleep. Again, it's a human thing." she grinned a bit, then waved, "See ya in the morning."

Adrian laughed a bit and waved. "All right, see yah, and I know, I'm half human too, you know."

Bella walked inside, Zane standing by the door. She looked over at him and waved a bit, "Hey."
"Hey." he responded, "I think you were a little too hard on Jason."
Bella sighed as they walked together, "I know. I'm an idiot. I've heard all this before. You wonder why Dianne was the only one that ever talked to me? I bet even Bella, I mean, mom didn't even want to be around me. I'm an a**hole."
Zane shook his head, "No, you're just-"
"What? Human?" She interrupted.
"No, a child." Zane smiled.
Bella smiled a bit as well, enjoying Zane's company. "Thanks for that."
"Don't mention it." he said, looking forward again, "Just, try to take it easy on Jason. I think it would mean a lot if you stopped by and apologized. Maybe say goodnight or something."
Bella nodded, "I'll do that."
"Thanks. G'night, Bells." He waved, using his old pet name for Bella.
"G'night to you, too, Zane."

by now jason was sitting up in bed. he was looking at his hands. the bandages were a light shae of pink from the blood that had almost leaked through. he sighe a bit. "i guess i'm pretty much useless until my hands get fixed" he murmured to himself.

Bella knocked quietly on the door to Jason's room, not saying anything.

"come in" jason said looking towards the door then back to his hands. he sighed a bit. it was also hurting really bad.

Bella opened the door slowly, as if trying to think before she came in.

Jason looked at the door as it slowly opened. "you don't need to be afraid, i don't bite" he said watching the door.

"I'm not scared, just... Not used to being in this situation."

"well when i'm in a spot like that i just take a breath and do it." he sai shrugging. "you don't have to say anything right away. i was just getting a bit lonely." he admitted

Bella nodded, "Well, what I meant was I don't usually apologize to people. I'm really bad at it."

Jason chuckled. "well come sit down then." he said smiling a bit at her. "i need the company" he said

Bella came in shyly, sitting down at the end of the bed, "I'm sorry... For what I said earlier. And the way I've acted the past few days. I never really gave you much of a chance."

"hey it's fine. everyone makes mistakes. i sure as hell know that i'm not perfect" he said. "as for chances, well i'm used to making my own chances" he said. "you know you can come closer. this bed is plenty big" he said.

Bella nodded, sitting closer to him indian style with her feet underneath of her. "I mean, I know I'm a pain in the butt, but that doesn't excuse the way I acted."

"well at least you got the guuts to admit it" he said smiling at her. "i don't hold grudges unless you do something really bad, so you don' tnee to worry about mee" he said. "though i will be pretty much uselss for a few days while my hands heal" he sai holding up the slightly red bandages.
