Vampire Diary Ch 5: Prince of Darkness

?He smiled at her and nodded. "Me too... I just feel like a total asshole for what I did... and she doesn't even care...."

"You didn't know anything would happen to her. And everyone makes mistakes. To be honest, I thought she had lost it at first. Now that we're out here, though... She seems to just be more like a little girl than anything. And she forgives you. That alone shows a lot about how much she loves you and missed you."

Janzelle's stomach growled, as though an animal were trying to escape from it. She moaned a bit, craving human food.

He nodded. "I know... I still just feel like an a**." He said, sighing.

"You didn't mean to. How old were you when you left her?" Bella asked.

"About fifteen. I think." He said.

"You were still just a kid. About three years younger than I am now. In your situation, I would have been too scared to think about getting anyone out but me."

"I screwed up; there aren't any excuses for that." He said.

Bella rested her head on his shoulder, still feeling weary, "Everyone makes mistakes. Janzelle forage you already. Now, you just have to forgive yourself."

"Easier said than done." He said, sighing.

"So I've been told." Bella sighed, her eyes growing heavy.

"Tired?" He asked, hugging her a little.

Bella nodded slowly, "Little food, little sleep, little Bella, little tired." she yawned.

He laughed a bit. "Want to go back inside?"

"No. The air feels good." She said softly, still laying on his shoulder.

He put an arm around her to hold her their. "It's not the air you're leaning against." He teased, smiling.

"Do you want to go back in? I'm enjoying the time with just the two of us, to be quite honest. Even if I'm having a hard time speaking." Bella said simply.

He smiled and shook his head. "Nah, I'm enjoying it too." He said.

"I'm glad." Bella spoke softly, having a sudden desire to just lay in the grass with him.

He smiled and nodded, laying there with her. "Mhmm." He said, thinking against anything perverted, seeing as that would probably drive her away.

Bella nodded, her head dropping as she fell asleep, unable to keep herself awake any longer.

Adrian smiled and closed his eyes next to her. If anyone needed them, they could wake them up.

Jason smiled at her. "are you hungry?" he asked smiling at her. "do you mind fresh, hunted meat?" He asked.

"I wouldn't know... I haven't eaten actual food in..." she thought, "I can't remember when."

"follow me then" he said smiling at her and starting off into the woods.

Janzelle followed Jason, careful not to make too much sound.
