Vampire Diary Ch 4: Enter Castle Dracula

Zane nodded, "If I see her, I'll let you know."

Adrian shrugged. "I was around eightteenish when I stopped getting older. And I really don't like the thought of being a kid."

Nathan shrugged. "Most people don't like it when you tear out their entrails much, either."

Kalvin shrugged, "Good point." he said as they approached the entrance to the castle.

Bella nodded, "There's a difference: you are actually older than 18. I just am 18."

He shrugged. "I still can't legally get drunk."

Nathan nodded and stepped through the gate. "Hello?"

Zane turned to watch Nathan enter, "Hey. Jason thinks he saw someone, so keep you're eyes peeled."

Bella shrugged, "I don't particularly want to. But, the others are probably waiting on us, so we should get going."

Jason shot zane a bit of a glare. "what do you mean 'thinks'? i know what I saw" he said.

Adrian nodded and began to walk forward. "Just making a point. Truely, I'm not sure I can get drunk. The half-vampire healing factor thing kind of negates ane effects like that."

Nathan nodded. "Okay. I can smell something... it almost smells like Adrian...."

"Hey,chill out Fido. It's not usual for a guy to run around talking to chicks no one can see. Can you blame him for thinking you've lost it?"

"eh, trust me I know i'm not insane, I went insane for while and got bored of it so I got sane again" he said.

"I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt, though, so I apologize if I sounded like I didn't believe you." Zane said.
There was a laugh from one end of the room and sing-songy voice on the other singing Pop Goes the Weasel again.

Bella nodded, but they were soon at the castle with everyone else.

Adrian groaneed a bit as he looked around. "Bad memories...."

Bella looked up as she heard laughter, then the candles on one end of the hall lit, showing scattered bones pushed against the walls, Janzelle sitting cross-legged in the middle, her eyes sunken and a look of madness in them, her face drawn back from hunger, her hair wild and teased, and holding a skull in her hands. "Where's my brother?" she whispered.

Adrian blinked once as he saw Janzelle. He shivered a bit and looked down at the floor.

Bella didn't say anything. If Adrian wanted her to know, he would tell her.
Zane seemed a bit confused, "We don't know Miss..?"
Janzelle threw the skull at Zane, who moved out of the way as it shattered into a thousand pieces against the other wall. She stood up, "Where is he? Daddy said he'd come back! He promised!" the more she spoke, the louder he got until she was screaming madly, "WHERE'S ADRIAN?! WHERE'S MY BROTHER?!"

Adrian continued to look down. "I- I... Jan.... I'm here...."

She stopped screaming took a breath, her eyes registering that someone had spoken. She took a step forward reaching her hand out toward Adrian, "Adrian..?" she whispered.

Adrian nodded a little, loking down again.

Janzelle threw herself at him, hugging him tightly and crying softly, "You're back... You came back for me..."

Adrian softly put his arms around her. "I... yes...." He said, looking quite awkward.

Janzelle didn't let go for a long time, then she looked back at Adrian, "I didn't mean to kill them... I was so hungry... I couldn't help it..."

"It's okay...." He said softly. ((She didn't eat them, did she...?))

((Yeah...))
She looked up, locking eyes with him as the madness seemed to fade for a brief moment. "Why did you leave me here?"

((... Like, actually eat or feed from?))
Adrian looked down, not answereing.

((Feed. She's half-vampire, you know.))
Janzelle seemed to get a bit frantic, "Adrian? Did you hear me?"

((Yes, yes. I just wanted to make sure. Though, they can eat too.))
ADrian looked down at her. "I'm so sorry...."
