Vampire Diary Ch 4: Enter Castle Dracula

Adrian smirked a bit and put a hand around her shouldrs. "Lighten up kid, looks like we've got a Twilight moment on our hands."

Bella looked over at Kyira, "I guess it's what happens when there's only two girls and as far as we know, no one is gay."

Jason just kept walking. "zane with my luck nothing will ever be good for me" He muttered as he kept walking, his ears laying flat back on his head as he was forced to listen to the talk behind him. "competition... and here I thought women weren't supposed trophies to be won..." he said shaking his head..

Zane nodded, "Well, the longest climb always comes before the biggest mountain."

"zane don't give me that bull sh*t it's really not helping at all" Jason said sighing. "i might as well just save myself the trouble and jump off at the next ledge before I wind up like Sisyphus." Jason said, referring to the legend of the man condemned in the underworld to roll a boulder uphill for all eternity only to watch it fall just short of the top.

"Is this little walk going to end soon, I feel my sanity slipping." Kyira whined to herself.

"I'm not giving you bullsh*t." Zane said firmly, "I'm your best friend. I would never lie to you. If I thought you were hopeless, I'd tell you. But you're not. You're one of the few truly nice guys on this planet and just because you haven't quite made it yet, when you do find someone, they'll be genuinely good to you and appreciate you for who you are."

Adrian sighed. "Give it... twenty more minutes."

Jason laughed hollowly. "and just what are the odds of girls caring about "nice guys" while i'm still breathing?" He asked. "girls only care about the bad boys that treat them like sh*t or a trophy to be won" Jason said, his voice starting to rise a bit from his frustration.

Zane sighed, "Then they aren't worth your time. You need to be a bit more positive, my friend."

Bella continued walking on, but tripped over a rock a few minutes from the entrance. "Ouch..." she muttered, sitting up.

"You okay?" Nathan and Adrian asked in unison, both crouching beside her.

"just why should I be positive Zane?" Jason asked, his voice rising in anger now. "Name just one thing in my life that has gone right. Name. One. Aside from you being my friend not a single thing has ever gone right" He said, his voice almost a shout.

"Will you stop b*tching for once this trip?!" Kyira shouted suddenly. "We aren't here to fall in love, make babies or get hitched, we're here to figure out what the hell happened to Dianne and protect the diary. STAY ON TASK!"
Kyira stomped off, quite ticked. Her head was throbbing from all the mushy love bull spinning inside it.

"I think so." Bella answered simply, but she winced and bit her lip when she stood and blood was soaking through the shin of her pants.
Zane frowned, "Remember Louise? She was absolutely crazy about you until the day she got hit by that train. When they went through her bag to try and figure out who she was, she had your picture in her bag with a small heart drawn at the bottom. Not to mention that you're alive now. Isn't that something right?"

"Mmm... how appetizing." Adrian mused before picking her up.

Bella made an odd face, "Great. I'm a snack for the road."

He grinned. "Only if you want." He mused.

Jason sighed. "zane that realy didn't help at all. pretty much anyone gets close to me and they die" he said sighing. "it doesn't help that adrian can't keep his hands off bella" he said sighing. he picked up his pace a bit. "nobody knows... who i really am... I've never felt.. this empty before... and if i ever need someone to come along... whose gonna comfort me... and keep me strong.." he said singing "Life is a boat" by rei Fu

Zane sighed, "This is for your own good." he promised, then hit him on top of his head, "You'll thank me for that later."
Bella sighed, "I'd rather not be."

He shrugged. "It's better than it sounds, actually."

Jason fell quite limp on the ground unconscious. zane did know the one spot on his head that knocked him out easily.

"All I know is you'd be biting me. Which doesn't sound fun." Bella said simply.
Zane picked up Jason, too, tossing him over his shoulder. Now he was carrying both Janzelle and Jason.

"Ever have a hicky? It's like that. Except a tad better. You don't feel the fangs. But I'm not hungry anyway." He mused.

Bella nodded, "Actually, I've never had a hicky."

It was probably for the best Jason wasn't awake right now....
