Blood of the Innocent: Part One

"Dianne says it's not modest to have it down." Bella said simply.

"well i won't tell so just leave it down for now" he said shrugging. "besides, i don't know how you would tie it up" he said.

"Once I find where my hair tie blew out, that won't be a problem." Bella smiled, "And just so you know, don't call me Belle. That was just what Dianne named me when she turned me. Everyone just calls me Bella."

"okay works for me" he said. he looked around. "it might be a bit hard to find a hair tie in an alley.." he remarked glancing around.

"Here it is!" Bella smiled, pulling her hair back and pinning loose curls to her head, "That's better." She smiled, feeling it with her hands since vampires don't have a reflection.

Jason leaned against the alley wall. "so what brings you out here?" he asked. compared to her, all tidy and in order, he looked a mess. his clothes had bloodstains, his hair was a mess, and his face was covered in dirt.

She pulled lightly on her ear, "I heard the guns." she said simply, "And it made me worried. And Dianne seemed to want a little alone time with her friend anyway." she said offhandedly, with a touch of innocence, like she didn't know why.

"ah i see. so do you want to just go for a walk or something for a bit?" he asked, figuring he had a good enough idea of why.

"Sure." Bella smiled, "Sounds like fun."

Jason grinned. "just stay close to me, the streets aren't exactly safe for our kind" he said motioining to the dead slayers around him. he led her out of the alley and down the street. "so how did you become a vampire?" he asked looking at her.

Bella thought, "It was sort of a mixture of things. I was sick, then my father killed me and Dianne was just in time to turn me before I was lost for good."

Jason nodded. "so we were both shot" he remarked. "I was fighting in the american revolution, but one of the british managed to get a good shot on me" he said "one of my friends was a vampire, though i didn't know at the time. he saved me and we came to london to escape the rest of the war. slayers killed him not long after, and i killed those that killed him. i'm just trying to stop slayers alltogether now" he said.

Adrian sat up in bed with a dumbstruck smirk on his face.

Dianne smiled, exhaling in relief, "Thank God I got that out of my system."

Bella pointed to the hollow of her neck, "I was hit here. Probably thought that I knew to much about vampires, or he just wanted to show Dianne that he was the one in power. Either way, both my mother and I were killed that night. I found out later that my father was with a group of slayers."

Adrian laughed. "You have to get something shoved in your system before you can get it out of your system? Sounds a little ironic to me."

Dianne smiled, "Ironic or otherwise, you had fun with it."

Adrian laughed. "You bet I did."

"that must have been fun" he said sarcastically. "so how long are you staying around london?" he asked looking at her. this was the first time he had spoken to someone outside of a slayer.

Bella shrugged lightly, "However long Dianne decides to keep me here. She likes to improvise. Claims it's good for your mind."

Dianne laughed, "See why I don't like screwing with humans? They can't take it."

Adrian smirked and nodded. "Yeah. Where did Bella get off to?" Adrian asked.

Jason shrugged. "can't say i don't agree, it's what i have to do most of the time" he said. "so is there anything you want to see while you're here?" he asked looking over at her.

"Sunlight." Bella joked playfully.

Dianne shrugged, "I wasn't worried about her right now. She went off on her own, so I figured if anything went wrong, I'd hear her screaming."

Adrian nodded. "Then what's on your mind?" He asked.

Jason chuckled. "well they have plenty of pantings in the National Gallery of it" he said shrugging. "that's if you're interested" he said. "anything else?" he asked.

Bella shrugged, "Why not? I have nothing else to do tonight."
