Discovery of a Spiecies (remake): R.I.P.

Jason nodded. "it's pretty easy when you're like me. just let them surround you and faze through the bullets when they try to shoot you. they killed each other instead of me" he said laughing. he looked at her, realizng now how young she was. "where are your parents?" he asked.

"Dead." She said softly, "They were both shot trying to help me escape."

Jason's eyes softened. "so you're like me then" he said quietly. he just knew she was hurting over this, so he gently wrapped his arms around her in a comforting hug, trying to help her. he would understand fully if she were to cry right now.

Abbey let herself be pulled close to him as another tear rolled down her cheek.

Jason kept his arms around her, holding her close to comfort her the best he could. he gently wiped away her tear as it rolled down her cheek. "it's okay to cry" he said kindly to her.

It was a little late to ask for permission to cry. Tears were rolling down her cheeks as her chest heaved up and down with the force of her sobbing.

Jason held her close to him, letting her cry as much as she needed to. he gently ran his fingers through her hair and gently petted her ears to help comfort her. he rubbed her back as gently as he could as well. he knew how much she was hurting.

Abbey clung to him, though she didn't know why. Reasoning would tell anyone not to put so much faith in a stranger, but reasoning had all but left her.

Jason didn't mind her clinging to him. when he had lost his parents, he would have clinged to anyone. he just wanted to help her. he rubbed her back with one hand and gently petted her ears with the other. for now they were safe from the capturers. it was a safe place to cry.

Abbey's ears suddenly poked up as if she had heard something. For a long while, she didn't even breathe. Then another faint sound echoed in the distance. More catchers.

Jason heard it too. "hang on tightly to me" he said softly. when he was very close to someone, he could faze through things with them, or turn them invisible. so far though, he had to be hugging them for it to work.

Abbey held onto him, doing as he said. He seemed to know what he was doing.

Jason closed his eyes and they turned transparent capturers spotted them and opened fire but the bullets passed right through them. he smirked as the riccochette caused them to shoot themselves. he and abbey went through the floor and were in the sewers, luckily on a ledge. he release her from his hug and took her hand. "stay close to me and i'll take you to a safehouse" he said softly.

Abbey nodded. She had never been one of many words. She had a small lisp as a child and a street performer told her that if you talked to much when you got older, then it would come back. She knew he was probably kidding, but for some reason, she still didn't say a lot.

Jason led her through the sewers, keeping her on the edge. it was very slippery so he kept a good grip on her hand to catch her should she slip.

Abbey followed him, careful to watch her step, but her mind drifted for a few seconds and she slipped/tripped on her tail.

Jason spun around on his heel to set his feet, he pulled her back up into him before so much as her tail dipped in the sewage. he had lost his balance though and fallen back into the wall, bringing her with him.

Abbey looked down, as if ashamed, "I-I'm sorry..." She said quietly, her face seeming to shrink back into the shadows, expecting punishment.

Jason smiled softly and rubbed her ears. "don't worry about it. i can't tell you how many times i've slipped" he said straightening himself up and holding onto her so that she wouldn't slip again. "are you alright to keep moving?" he asked.

Abbey nodded, her face still fearfully expectant, as if she knew he was going to turn around all of a sudden and smack her right across the face.

Jason could tell the fear from her face. "don't be afraid of me abbey. i promise i won't hurt you" he said. he even held up his pinky to promise her if it would comfort her. he still had an arm around her to make sure she wouldn't slip.

Abbey looked from his hand to his face, then back down at his hand, locking her pinky finger with his. She attempted a smile, though it was a hollow one, devoid of life or the joy a smile usually had.

Jason smiled softly at her. "just relax. i won't let anything bad happen to you" he said softly. soon he led her into a hidden passsage. he didn't recall it, but he had brought in a couple of wolf demons earlier that seemed more than a little shot up. luckily he had also rescued a healer, so those demons could live.

Abbey looked around carefully, trying not to stare. These were some of the same guys who not too long ago had beat her in the allies. She had never been welcome in the same town as them and her body tensed with fear. She was a fearful creature, more rabbit than dog, or so she had been told.

Jason wrapped his arm around her. "don't worry abbey, they won't hurt you here" he said softly. the medic demon walked towards him. "those two you found earlier are now in stable condition." the female cat demon reported. "they wish to see you and thank you" she said. Jason nodded. "Okay i'll go check on them now" he said and with that the cat left. Jason looked at abbey. "come on you might know these two. one looked a lot like you now that i think about it." He said leading her behind a curtain.and who else would be in those two beds, patched up but alive? her parents.
