Vampire Diary Ch 2: Now or Never

Adrian's face sank into a frown. "What?"

"We need to get to Transylvania. Dianne left a hint that the missing page of the Diary might be there. I know you know the area." Zane said simply.

Jason sighed a bit, watching the cieling. he would rather be outside where he could see the stars. he also wondere where bella was right now.

Adrian crossed his arms. "And no one else does?"

"No one that I know." Zane shrugged.

"Whatever." Adrian muttered, taking his arm off of Bella and walking off. It was a yes, but he wasn't happy about it.

Jason looked around the room, wondering if bella was anywhere aroun. he wanted at least a little company, and he knew zane was probably busy.

Bella made a face, "Adrian, why do you not want to go to Transylvania."

Adrian sat on a log outside. "Long story."

"I've got time." Bella said simply.

"Yeah, but I didn't say I wanted to tell you. But... well, bassicly, my childhood." He said with a sigh.

Bella winced back at the first part of that statement, "You don't have to tell me unless you want to. I can't make you do anything. I mean... I'm only human, Adrian."

Adrian chuckled a grim laugh. "Yeah, count your blessings."

"I suppose I could, if I wanted to." she chuckled, "To be honest, I'm starting to feel I don't belong here."

"Heh, same here. I mean, you actually serve some purpose, you have the book, but me? I'm just the snappy prick that just happens to know how to get to Transylvania."

"You could have easily taken the book from me, Adrian. You're a vampire." she smiled a bit.

"Heh, not quite. I'm a dhamphir."

Bella blushed, "If only I knew what that was..."

Adrian smiled a bit. "You have the book, look it up."

((Vampire Diary Entry #1: Vampire- Sub-Catagory a) "Dhamphir"

A Dhamphir is the child of a male vampire and female human. They have all the strengths of vampires with none of the weaknesses. Though, occasionally they may suffer from a "sun sickness" akin to heat stroke, though it's always non-fatal. The mother almost always dies in childbirth as Dhamphirs develop quickly and are much stronger than average babies. They can sustain themselves on a diet of blood or food, but usually take a diet of both. They are alive, but still immortal. ))

Bella nodded, "You still could have taken it if you wanted. I'm not strong, or fast, or anything. I just have a book."

Adrian smiled a little, and it wasn't as grim as before. "You kidding? That thing's cursed."

Bella snorted, "It might as well be. Everyone else who's had it has died."

"My point exactly. I don't know about you, but I enjoy my life. Well, my life now at least."

Bella nodded, "Do you mind me asking how?"

Jason sat up a bit on his bed. He sighed to himself as he looked out a window at the stars. he started singing softly to himself, "somebody to lean on" he actually had a decent voice. you could only hear it if you were listening closely though. zane probably knew better than anyone that he used singing to relax.
