When Dragon's Hearts Were Good

Arturo shrugged. "I dunno... why do you ask?"

"Just curious." She grinned.

Calico jolted upright, "God, how long was I out?" she looked up at the sun, "Damnit, da*nit! , da*nit! ...." she muttered running up on the deck.

Arturo smirked a bit and shrugged.

Jason raised an eyebrow and followed her up after pulling his boots on. he walked up to her. "what's the rush?" he asked.

"Nothing! Nothing at all! Take your time!" She shouted back and pulled Arturo aside, "Where did you put it?"

Jason sighed a bit. "figures. I find a nice girl but she's occupied with an older guy" he muttered rolling his eyes as he walked over to the fruit crates to grab his morning snack.

Arturo strugged up when Calico dragged him. "Ai! Slow down a bit, chica, it's safe. I put it in a barrel."

"Which one?" she asked, "I need to show it to the captain."

Jason sighed as he looked through the apple crate. he looked over at a barrel labled as Grapes. he raised an eyebrow and quickly examined the contents. he grabbed a bit of them and noticed something else in the grapes. "is that an egg?" he wondered looking at it. he figured he could have an omlete in the crows nest later, so he picked it up and carried it up to the nest.he set the egg between his legs as he munched on ihs grapes debating on how best to cook the egg up here.
((just thought i'd add a bit of confusion in this))

"The grape one." He said simply.

Calico ran over to the barrel, then ran back, "No it's not."

Jason thought he felt something moving in the egg. "hmm.... eithe reat it now an d be hungry later... or hatch it and have as many eggs as i want" he said to himself smirking. he set the egg in the sun and wrapped it up so it was in a makeshift incubator.

Arturo shrugged. "Well, that's where I put it." He said before Jason, crawling up to the crows nest, caught him eye. "Maybe the monkey boy took it...."

Calico sighed and climbed up, "You didn't happen to find anything in the barrel of grapes, did you?"

"if i found nothing why would i be eating grapes?" he asked. people didn't usually try to hide eggs. he figured she meant some treasure of some sort, and he hadn't found any thing like that. he didn't think she'd like him waisting her time with an egg.

"Damn..." she muttered, "If you see anyone with a big, egg-shaped thing, let me know." she said, starting to climb back down.

"why would you be looking for an egg?" he asked looking down at her. "aren't they only good for omletes or making chickens?" he asked looking at his makeshift incubation area.

"I found one in the water last night and I think it might be worth something. It's kinda abnormally large."

"why would this packaged breakfast be worth anything withoutbeing eaten?" he asked moving towards the incubation area , wondering what would be inside it.

Arturo climed the riggings on the other side, unnoticed until he snatched up the egg. "Ah hah! Got it!"

Jason glared and had a pistol on him almost instantly. "hey now you should ask before taking" he said.

"So should you, chico." Arturo said with a smirk, his own gun poked into Jason's stomach.

"how was i supposed to know an egg belonged to anyone when it was in the communal food barrels?" He asked. "i figured it was just something that had gotten mixed up and was fit to give me a chicken. now don't shake it up so much. whatever is inside is alive for now" he said.

Arturo laughed. "It's bigger than my head! You really think it could have been a chicken egg? And I'm older than you chico, I think I know how to handle it."

Calico poked her head back up, "What's going on up here?" she looked over at Arturo, "Hey! Jason, did you take my egg?"
