Bella nodded, "I see." she paused, as if thinking of something to say, "Do you mind me asking something?"

"No, not at all. Ask away." Nathan said.

"How do you become a werewolf?" She asked, "I mean, is it like vampires where you have to get bitten or is it different?"

"Well, in most cases, you're born into it. But werewolves can make other werewolves, under the right circumstances. There's a condition that some werewolves get, which we call 'Werewolf rabies' because of its similarities. It first appears when a werewolf is past his early hundreds, if it appears at all. It's spread through, well as legend depicts, a bite, and it is only seems to infect on a full moon. Then the human infected begins to slightly halucinate and may develop a hot temper untill the next full moon when they change into a werewolf themselves. But, those werewolves are usually very feral, because whatever werewolf made them has a very low chance of knowing." Nathan explained.

Bella nodded, interested. "So, is it like in the stories? Do you turn into a wolf only when the moon is full?"

"Nah. You can do that at will. Though, if you were turned by the disease, you most likely don't know that you're a werewolf, so you just phase on the full moon then." Nathan said.

Bella nodded, "So, it's kind of complicated?"

He smiled. "You could say that."

Bella nodded, "Can I ask another question?"

"You just did." Nathan said with a smile. "But, yeah, go ahead."

"How old are you?" she asked curiously.

Nathan smiled. "I'm not that old. You want dog years or human years?"

"Human, please." She chuckled.

"I'm only about twenty-seven."

Bella nodded, "I assumed since you knew Dianne and Adrian you must be older than that. I just turned sixteen."

"Well, that's around 243 in god years, I think, and that's what I go by. And I met those two when I was in my teens. But congrats on that." Nathan said.

Bella laughed, "I'm lucky I lasted that long. I'm sort of accident prone."

"We all have our quirks. I'm told I'm annoying."

"I don't think so." Bella said simply, "And you can't dispute scars."

Nathan shrugged. "Like I said, everyone's got their quirks. How bad could it have been?"

Bella showed him the scar on her neck where she was shot, as well as a scar that ran up the entire length of her leg and three on her arm that resembled lots of tic-tac-toe boards stuck together. "Want to see more?" She laughed.

"Wow... that's... wow." Nathan said. "I'm good, unless you're in a sharing mood."

Bella laughed, "Actually, I'd rather not show the rest. It's hard to get to them without lifting my skirt farther than I'd like."

Nathan laughed a bit. "All right, I get it."
