"What do you think she could be up to?" Ming asked.

Addy fell back against the wall, sitting on the floor, drinking. Her cheeks were bright red, with her eyes sort of glazed over.

He knelt next to her, putting a hand to her forehead.

"Getting us food, hopefully." He said.

Ming nodded. Dianne came up some time later with a basket of fruit and some sort of meat; lamb by the looks of it.

Addy's face was boiling hot. She didn't move, and seemed altogether weakened.

He grimmaced a bit. "Come here, let's get you fixed up." He said, picking her up.

Akahando watched her as she came.

"There is something I'm debating telling you." Dianne said simply. "But I'd need you to promise you wouldn't attack me if I did."

Addy was limp in his arms, but conscious.

"What is it?" He asked.

Adrian took her up to his room, setting her in the master bedroom. "I'll see what I can do. Just, stay warm." He said, setting her under the covers.

"Promise me first." Dianne said simply, "Give me your word."

Addy didn't move, except to hug the blankets close to her.

"Chain me up." He suggested.

Adrian went downstairs to get some medicine.

Dianne nodded, "I think I'll trust you. I'd rather not resort to that." she brushed her hair back with her fingers, "Your friend... the white wolf girl... I didn't kill her. As a matter of fact, she's still alive."

When he came back, there had been no change in Addy except for her eyes had closed.

"Where is she?" He asked, not showing the relief, fear. and anger.

Adrian felt for a pulse for a moment. "Are you awake?"

Her pulse was still going, and she opened her eyes slowly, not speaking.

"She's with Adrian. Across the ocean."

"Across the ocean?!" He asked, standing up, showing his teeth.

Adrian brought a spoon of green paste to her lips. "Open up."

"He should be bringing her back sometime soon." Dianne said simply, "I told you that you best not attack me. Don't press me."

Addy did as he asked, opening her mouth.

"How soon?" He asked.

Adrian put the spoon in her mouth.

She closed her mouth around it, taking whatever it was he gave her.

"It takes a month tops to get here."

"Now swallow." He said.

"When are they leaving?" Akahando asked.

"I got a letter from him yesterday that said they had just arrived. I would say they shouldn't be staying more than a week or two."

Addy did as he said.

He nodded a bit and sat back down.

Adrian smiled a bit. "You should be feeling better soon."

Addy nodded weakly, her eyes closing again.

Dianne smiled lightly, "That's better. Just keep yourself calm. She'll be back."

Adrian sat on the edge of the bed.

Akahando nodded a bit, putting his head in his hands.

Addy slept for a long while.

Dianne left the food with them, then left.

"She's comming back." Said Akahando.

Adrian smiled a bit and stood up.

Addy looked much better. She blinked slowly, waking gently.

Ming nodded, "Wow... She-she's alive..."

When Addy woke up, Adrian was sealing a letter.

Akahando nodded, equally shocked. "I hope she's okay."

Ming nodded slowly, "Me, too..."

Addy rolled over, putting her hand on her neck. She felt so thirsty... But her thirst wasn't for water.
