Vampire Diary Ch 7: This is Home

"Thanks man."

Zane came back in a moment later, "This isn't good. Can Nathan take Jan and Bella somewhere safe?"
"I can help." Jan said firmly, "Bells is the one who needs safety."
Bella blushed, being forced to agree that she was the most vulnerable one here.

Nathan nodded a bit, picking her up. Adrian kissed her. "Be careful, you two." He said before they took off.

Bella kissed him back before they left. Zane quickly explained, "There is a hunter out there. He could be after one of us, he could be after the diary. Either way, he's not getting what he wants. I know this guy, though. He's the one who killed Marcello as well as Jason's family."

"How do you know it's that one?"

"Marcello didn't die without a fight. He left four long scars across the hunter's face."

Adrian nodded a bit. "That sounds like Marcello."

Zane nodded solemnly, "Yeah... I know. Either way, he still needs to be taken care of quickly."

"All right." Adrian nodded. "Let's go, then."

A loud howl errupted from outside, followed by the sounds of a fight and two people running off. Zane could most likely recognize jason's howl, as his: time-to-kill-a-b*tch howl. Under the tree where he had been sitting there was a good deal of blood and a trail of it.

Zane motioned for everyone to follow, running out to where the blood ended. The hunter, a tall man with long dark hair and broad shoulders, four lines jagging diagonally across his face, stood with a gun held at the neck of a girl, limp and unconscious. He held her by her head, his hands around the upper portion of her neck. He tilted her head a bit, knocking the blue hair from her face to show them it was Elle. "Looks like today is a day for reunions." he laughed sadistically. "I see Jason, the one who got away, and Zane, the freak with the ink, and since I've already got who I came for, might as well rid the world of the rest of your b*******, too."

Jason was growling rather loudly. his breathing was becoming irregular... His eyes were starting to glow red... He was losing all control. "Zane..." he muttered, his voice already demonic. "get everyone else out of here. this will get very ugly" he finished as his claws started to grow out.

"Jason, if you don't keep yourself under control, he'll kill her. Please, just stay calm..." Zane said softly.

"he won't kill her." Jason said. "she's the only thing that's keeping me back and he knows it" his voice curled back in a smirk. "such a big hunter, hiding behind a girl. you killed my parents just fine without help. So why don't you try and finish what you started, one....on one...." Jason said. "That is, unless you think i'm too tough for you to take."

"Because the girl is who I was paid to go after." He said simply, "My primary goal for this job is to kill her and bring the body back. With or without yours. Your choice right now is weather or not you want to watch me shoot this bullet into her head."

Jason glanced over at zane. "anychance you got a plan?" he whispered moving slowly in a wide arch to make sure if the slayer did hurt elle he wouldn't live to tell about it.

"Yeah..." Zane nodded, "I do."

"you know how to fill me in" Jason said, his ears twitching. When he and zane plotted something, zane always spoke so quietly no human or slayer could hear, but jason could due to his wolfish ears.

Zane's lips didn't move, but Kalvin's voice echoed in his head, "There is a certain benefit to everyone forgetting about you."

/there certainly is..... so what are you going to do?/ he asked using the shared connection. He just wanted a bit of a heads up.

"I'm going to try to paralyze him."

"if you can't paralyze his hole body, just get his arms./ Jason advised. anything more would just make this easier.

"I got it." Kalvin echoed.
The hunter frowned, "Stop!" he growled, "Get out of my head." he tried to pull the trigger, but Kalvin moved his arm so the bullet only hit her arm, then the hunter dropped her.

Jason smirked. in an instant he was right up to the slayer, one slash ripping the slayer's chest to ribbons.

The slayer finally fell, landing on the ground next to Elle, her body splattered with his blood.
