Are We Angels? Part 2

"That's not your choice." He said, grinning a bit. "But, no, you couldn't help me. And it's not my loss, its yours. Just one little demon has caused four angels so much strife."

"again, I could help you, I know how" Jason said rolling his eyes. "i've already done it once" he said watching Cai. "but seriously, I won't let you kill rebecca" he said.

"What if she wants it?" He asked. "And get this through your thick skull- no, you couldn't. You helped that little priss of yours. She never fully turned."

"she wants to be with you, yes i know. but i doubt she wants to become a demon" he said ignoring the second part. He knew cai would never listen.

"Well, that's too bad, I suppose." He said. At that moment, he would feel Rebecca's weight lighten in his arms as she was lifted up, a black noose around her neck, having snapped it. So far, the only one Jason had returned from "Demondom" was Estelle, and she wasn't even a full demon. And that had been more Cai's doing anyway, seeing as he commanded the demon to go suicidal.

Jason felt his body shake. he had never been able to handle death very well. he drew his sword, his eyes starting to glow blue. this was a good sign for cai to get his butt out of there.

Cai laughed maniacly and dispersed into flames as Rebecca's lifeless body fell to the ground.

Jason knelt down to heal rebecca but he found it was too late, her body was already stone and before he could touch her it had crumbled away.

Estelle awoke with M a while later, seeming a bit surprised, "I had the worst dream..." she muttered, "Where's Jason?"
"He's coming back, love. Just give him a moment."

Jason sighed as he landed outside the cave. he waited at the entrance not sure what to do.

Estelle nearly jumped for joy when she saw Jason, running over and hugging him tightly.

Jason hugged her close too but said nothing. He knew she viewed him as a hero and he didn't know how to say he had failed...

Estelle didn't let go, simply holding him tightly, "I had the worst dream..." she muttered, "But you were there... And you saved me."

Jason smiled softly at her and held her close. "yes i did" he said trying to put what had happened behind him.

Estelle held onto him, "So... it was real? Not just a dream?"

Jason nodded. "it was real, but now that part is over. you're free from the demon" he said softly as he held her close.

Estelle nodded, "I never want that to happen again... It was horrible..."

Jason smild softly at her. "just stick with me and i'll make sure it doesn't" he said softly as he held her closer than ever.

Estelle nodded, holding onto him, "I missed you."

Jason smiled and held her close. "i missed you too" he said softly.

Estelle buried her face into his chest, noticing that Rebecca was gone, but not wanting to bring it up.

Rebecca was sitting on the roof of a church building, one leg pulled up next to her, the other dangling off. She had her arms wrapped around herself, hands on the opposite shoulder. She looked straight out into the city, her eyes darker than they had been. The wind blew her hair back behind her, though she didn't seem to notice, nor did she seem to care.

Cai flitted in the air behind her, perching softly next to her.

Rebecca glanced over her shoulder, "Good to see you again." She smiled lightly.

He looked back at her. "Likewise." He said, smiling back a little.

Jaosn held her very close in his arms. just by how she was acting he just knew that she knew Rebecca was gone.
