Are We Angels? Part 2

"You have to trust me, Rebecca... we can be together, forever, if you'll just trust me on this. You'll need to trust me with your life- I will take it, but you'll come back, just like I did... you'll be like me."

Jason looked up at M. "what do you have to do?" He asked keeping estelle close to him.

Rebecca thought, hugging him closely, "Do you trust me, too?"

"I need inside you're mind, Jason." M said sincerely, "It's no coincidence about your name. You're healing capabilities uninhibited... They are off the charts. Jason, I believe that your powers might be enough to revive the dead. But, there is a block in your mind. I need you to trust me enough to take down the block."

Jason nodded and closed his eyes. "i trust you" He said quietly. "if you had intended to hurt me you would have done it long before now" he said.

"I do, Rebecca. I know you have that dagger; and I trust you'll do the right thing." He said, moving his hand to gently rest ontop of whereever she had the dagger.

M nodded putting his hand on Jason's head. There was a quick, sharp pain, much like getting a shot, then it was over, "Now it's up to you."

Rebecca nodded, holding the dagger in her hand and looking from it, to Cai, "How much do you trust me?"

"Enough to put my life in your hands." He said, letting go of her and opening his arms and bowing his head.

jason shuddered a bit from the phantom pain. his eyes started to glow golden and he held his hands, which started to glow as well, over estelle's body, the light spreading to her body as everything fixed almost instantly.

Estelle inhaled, then her expression softened into relaxation as she fell asleep in his arms.
M smiled and nodded, "Jason, I have to admit, I was wrong about you at first."

Rebecca bit her lip, unsure of what to do, "Cai... I don't know what to do anymore..."

"Come with me Rebecca... we can be happy again."

Jason smild and held estelle close then looked up at M. "and just what did you think of me before?" he asked curiously.

"I thought you were just as you appeared; simple. I was wrong. You've been the only person to ever have proven me wrong about anything."

Rebecca trembled, "Cai, I'm scared."

"Don't be." He said, hugging her gently.

Jason laughed. "well i feel special then" he said watching M. "but yeah i get that sort of thing all the time." he said shrugging.

M nodded, "I have the faintest feeling Rebecca may need help." M handed him his old sword back, "Here. This is yours."

Rebecca cried softly, "I don't know what to do, Cai... I don't know and I'm scared and lonely..."

Jason returned the newer one. 'thank you for this M" he said. "can you keep watch of estelle while I go help rebecca?" He asked watching M.

"You don't have to be... and I'll help...." He said, plunging the dagger, which he snaked out of her pocket, into her back. "You'll thank me for this, love. Follow me down the stairs when you die...." He mused softly, taking a firey ethereal form.

Rebecca cried out in pain, sinking to her knees.

M nodded, "I will." He held Estelle in his arms, "Hurry."

Jason shot out as a bolt of lignting once again. He landed right next to them, pulling rebecca from cai and removing the dagger, the wound closed the second the dagger was gone due to his extensive healing powers. he watched cai. "so you really tried to kill her" Jason mused.

Cai grinned at Jason. "Yes and no on that one." He said.

"yeah i know you killed her so she could be reborn like you" He said rolling his eyes. "i'm surprized you didn't try to change yourself instead, if you really did love her" he said drawing his sword.

"There's more to it than that. And It's too late for me to change. Not that I would want to, anyway." He said, the ephemeral flames dying out.

"actually, it's not too late" Jason said still holding onto rebecca. "it would probably hurt you like hell but it can be done" he said.

"I told you; I don't want to change." He said. "I'm lost, Jason. You can't help me, nor do I want you to."

Jason laughed. "actually i could help you. though if you don't want me to I guess it's your loss. I'm not going to let you kill rebecca though" he said getting serious now.
