Vampire Diary Ch 5: Prince of Darkness

"Jason Amaroq" Jason said shaking his hand. "my friend here is Janzelle" He said moving enough that he could see her.

"Ah I see. What are you doing here exactly?" he asked

"well getting some air and food" Jason said motioinng to the deer bones. "sorry but nothing is left" he said.

"Its fine. Thanks for the offer though" Jonathan said. He went hunting just yesterday, so he was fine on blood supply at the current moment

Janzelle stood and looked him over closely, "You smell kind of like my dad..."

Jason looked ovr at janzelle curiosuly, wondering what she meant by that.

"Is that a good thing or bad thing?" Jonathan asked curiously

"knowing her dad, a very bad thing" Jason said quietly before looking back at Janzelle.

"Oh" Jonathan said firmly

Janzelle shook her head, "No... Like blood... Like a vampire..."

"ohhh.... my bad" Jason said rubbing the back of his head.

"Ah, I see." Jonathan said

Janzelle nodded, "But, it's still a different smell than Adrian..."

Jonathan was unsure to say next. "I'm sorry?" he said

"It's not a problem..." Janzelle said simply.

"Is everything alright?" he asked

"Yeah...' Janzelle said softly, almost like she wasn't quite all paying attention.

Jonathan looked toward Jason. "Is she always like this?" he asked

Jason shrugged a bit. he didn't know her well enough to comment yet.

Janzelle looked up, then sighed. She knew she was usually like this. The fact that everyone else seemed to not like her saddened her, so she walked away to find Adrian.

Jason gently grabbed her wrist. "where are you going Janzelle?" Jason asked moving in front of her, a bit of concern in his eyes.

Janzelle looked up, but didn't say anything for a long while. She paused, "I'm not like everyone else..."

Jason chuckled, still holding onto her wrist. "well neither am I. I don't think there is one person like anyone else in our whole group. Just look at me" he said shrugging. "i'm a wolf demon that spent most of my life in a slayer's torture chamber." he said. "i don't think anyone else can say that" he said smiling softly at her. "so you could say in order to be the same, you have to be different' he said trying to cheer her up.

Janzelle nodded, "I don't think anyone really likes me that much, either."

Jason smiled at her. "I can tell you right now that's not true. I'm sure you know adrian likes you so I won't go into that, but I like you" he said. "I'm just not exactly good at showing emotions anymore. I guess it just comes from the torture thing" he said watching her. "just give the others time and if they don't like you now they wiill soon" he said reassuringly.
