Rebecca bit her lower lip, trying to hold back sobs as tears dripped down her cheeks.

He smiled lightly. "Miss me, but let me go."

Rebecca shook her head, "I can't..."

He sighed. "You have to...." He said softly. The tips of his wings began to turn to stone.

Rebecca kissed his lips, "I love you, Cai... I can't..."

Cai kissed her back softly. "I love you too... but I have to go, Reb." Where the tips of his wings had turned to stone, they began to chip and crumble away.

Rebecca wiped her eyes, though they were filled with tears again by the time her hand moved away, "I'll try..."

Cai smiled up at her and M landed next to them.

Rebecca was still crying, now more sobs that simple tears.

M knelt down and put a hand on her shoulder as slowly more of Cai chipped away. Rebecca didn't know what was happening... this was more than death....

Rebecca cried softly, laying her head on Cai's chest, though it was now stone.

"Goodbye...." He mustered out before crumbling to dust.

Jason panted as he landed back down and let estelle off his back. "it's a good thing both of us can attack from a distance" he said smiling softly at her. "that would really suck to get up close to those buggers" he said hugging her gently.

Estelle nodded and hugged him back, looking over to M and Rebecca, "What's wrong with them?" she asked in a concerned tone.

Jason kept holding onto her. he frowned. "i don't think you want to know...." he said trailing off as he saw the stone fragments on the ground.

After a long while, M lifted Rebecca off the ground and looked over toward Jason, "I'll explain later." he said softly, too softly for Rebecca to hear.

Jason nodded and kept estelle close to him. he wrapped his wings protectively around her. "let's move somewhere else" he said turning and walking away slowly.

"Meet me back at the graveyard tomorrow night." M said, though his words sounded as though he were asking.

Jason nodded looking back at M. "i will" he said before spreading his wings and flying with estelle still in his arms. he was starting to grow protective of her.

Estelle was tired from using all her energy on her ice-making that day. She fell asleep in Jason's arms while they were in the air.

Jason smiled softly at her and landed on her rooftop. He sat down keeping her gently in hsi lap and held her close as she slept.
