Blood of the Innocent: Part One

Bella exhaled from the alley, having drained the last one of them of blood, then tossed him into a dumpster. She wiped her mouth, her lips stained red, but in a way that could be mistaken for lipstick, then walked across the road to try and find something to occupy her time.

Jason saw her emerge from the alley and ran to catch up to her. "hey did you see what happened to those slayers?" He asked walking next to her, watching her with curiousity.

Bella couldn't help but wipe her lips again in case she missed anything, unknowingly giving away what happened.

Jason raised an eyebrow, very, very impressed. "how did you do that?" he asked curiously as he kept walking next to her.

"Apparently, I actually do know what I'm doing." She said simply.

"well you know how to fight that much i can say for certain" he said watching her. "how did you get to be so fast?" he asked. he had been used to being considered fast, but she made him look like a snail.

"I don't know." She confessed, "I'm only twenty-seven. It just sort of came to me."

"well whatever you do it works" He said smiling at her. "i'm almost 200 but i can't run half as fast as you can" he said. he noticed her arm was a bit burnt from the previous night. "you barely made it didnt you?" He asked, a bit of sadness in his voice that she was hurt.

"Barely." She nodded, "But I made it."

Jason sighed a bit. "i wish you wouldn't have gone out and hurt yourself like that. does it hurt still?" He asked looking at her.

Bella shook her head, "No, it's fine."

Jason sighed relieved. "well that's good. at least you're okay" he said walking next to her still. "so what has you out tonight?" he asked.

Bella shrugged, "I'm just out for the sake of being out." she said simply, trying to keep in mind what Adrian had said.

"Seems we have that in common" he said sticking his hands in his pockets. "is there anything special you want to see tonight?" He asked. adrain was mostly right, almost all who met her would be trying to get in her pants, but he was mostly just trying to get in her good books. in other words, he was just out to make friends, at least right now.

Bella shook her head, "I'm enjoying the fresh air right now, thank you."

"ah I guess when you've lived here a long time you forget to stop a take a breath" he remarked before looking at her "you seem more distnat tonight any reason why?" he asked curiosly

Bella shook her head, "No reason."

"Well if it's cause you're shy you don't need to be. I don't bite... wait let me rephrase that, I don't bite unless you've tried to kill me" he said laughing. "in short, i won't bite you." he explained.

Bella nodded, "OK." She said effortlessly, "I've always been shy, though. It's jut part of who I am."

Jason chuckled. "well I'll see if i can at least make you a little less shy" he said watching her with a light smile.

Bella shook her head, "I like the way I am. I don't want to change."

Jason chuckled. "I can't say i don't think the same" he said, still walking next to her. "did you find out how long you'll be staying yet?" he asked.

"No." she said simply, "But I have an old friend coming sometime soon who I might leave here with."

"ah i see" he said, a trace of sadness in his voice. "will you ever come back? like to visit?" He asked after a long silence.

"Probably." She said simply, "I think I would like to travel."
