Mortal Combat: R.I.P.

Nia looked up through her long, brown eyelashes, "I never said it wasn't against your code, I said that anyone else would have killed the kid anyway."

Jason nodded. "yeah most guys here are jerks" h said looking back down at her with his mysterious golden eyes. "would you have killed him were you in my shoes?" he asked.

"Depends." She grinned, "On weather or not he was a jerk."

Jason smiled and nodded at that. "yeah though he was too scared to say much of anything" he said resting his hand on nia's head.

Nia looked up, "You're pushing it."

Jason ruffled her hair. "hey i don't mean any offense by it." he said smiling at her. "it just means i like playing with your hair" he said.

Nia frowned, "Mmhm... sure..."

Jason pouted and ran his fingers through her hair. "i'm not joking. your hair is really soft you know" he said.

"It's a miracle called shampoo." Nia smirked.

Jason smirked back at her. "well anyways i like playing with your hair" he said still running his fingers through her hair.

Nia smirked, "Whatever. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some business to attend to."

Jason smirked back at her. "oh? and what business would that be?" he asked

Nia smirked, "That's for me to know, and you to find out."

Jason laughed. "oh are you going to stalk me now?" he asked. he was of course just messing around with her.

Nia grinned, "Stalk you? Oh no, my dear boy... It's called investigating not stalking."

Jason laughed. "either way you're following me around watching my every move" he said laughing.

"You won't even know I'm there." Nia smiled and skipped off into the crowd.

Jason rolled his eyes. "i don't have to see you" he called after her. of all the people he could have stalking him, at least it was someone cute.

Nia continued walking through the crowd. This kid had just verified her theories about him. He was the typical kid with some talent who was all righteous and determined to honor every rule in the book. She hated that he would have to see the ugly side of this world: not everyone obeyed the rules. It took some major skills to get very far in this competition following the rules. Fortunately, Nia had talent such as this. And friends. Friends were always helpful."

true, jason was all riteous and did honor his code at all times, but she was wrong about the 'some' talent part. when it came to fighting, jason had more raw talent than all the monks at his monastary in one hand. he was highly disciplined, and knew that there were those that didn't follow a code. those people he gave no mercy. as for friends, he had his monks. each of them would be great contenders in this competition.

Nia climbed the stairs to the top of a tower overlooking the city. She sat on the railing looking out over everything. She loved the view from up here. If she sat real quiet, she could smell the ocean...

Jason stayed where she had left him, watching the fights. there was more to jason than what many people knew.

When the fights were over for the day and the sun set, Nia climbed down from the temple and walked back toward where she was staying that night, thinking that everyone else had gone to sleep.

Jason was sitting in the arena. he closed his eyes and did a form of moving meditation. he was channeling his energy, preparing himself in case he needed to use his hidden ability.

Nia looked over at him and smiled, repressing a giggle. He looked kinda silly sitting there all by himself.
