Jason sighed. "just remember you have a friend in me elanor" he said kindly. he ran his fingers through her hair and stayed close to her. he wished he could get through to her.

"I'll try." Elanor said, her voice touched with sarcasm.
Evaline came back in with the Traveler's Potion, "Here we are." She said in a sweet, caring tone. It was hard to believe that the two elves were related in any way.

Jason smiled. 'thank you evaline" he said gratefully. he looked at elanor, wishing more than anything that she would someday be more open with him.

Jason smiled and divided up the potion between them. he drained his portion in seconds, and waited for elanor and evaline to do the same.

Elanor took hers reluctantly, but Evaline downed hers without question.

Jason stood up and pulled his armor on. "are we all ready?" Jason asked looking them over. he hoped they could keep up.

"As ready as I can be." Evaline bowed her head.

Jason nodded. "try to keep up then" he said as he darted out of the house. when he ran, he got so low it was almost like he was frozen mid-fall.

Evaline wasn't nearly as fast as he was, but Elanor could keep up with no problem. She seemed to have every intention of leaving Evaline behind.

Jason stopped for a split second so that evaline ran into his back and picked her up. he darted off and instantly got caught up with elanor again. he actaully ran faster than before, starting to outrun elanor.

Evaline held tightly onto him, "Thank you." She breathed.
Elanor started to pick up pace, now it would seem as though she was simply trying to outrun him.

Jason picked up his pace as well. he was starting to pull ahead of her, even when weighed down by evaline and his armor.

Elanor darted forward like a bullet, her speed reaching it's top.

Jason grunted and shot off more, still pulling farther ahead of her. jason was faster. he had trained long and hard to be the fastest thing alive

They ran like this at top speed for what seemed like seconds, but was in fact days. It actually took two weeks for Evaline's potion to wear off. And that was when they stopped.

Jason smirked at elanor. they were only a few miles short of their destination. "you know with the right training you could be faster than me" he said smiling at her.

Elanor stood tall and proud, "I can do it on my own." She said firmly.
Evaline sighed, "I fear I have used enough breath to give life to Goliath apologizing for my cousin, but yet I must do so again."

Jason nuzzled evaline. "don't worry about it." he said kindly. he looked at elanor. "i know you CAN do it on your own but that doesn't mean you MUST." he said.

Jason frowned. "elanor you don't have to be harsh with me. i'm here to help" he said kindly to her.

"That's what they all say." Elanor frowned and walked away, leaving Evaline and Jason behind her as she walked into a pub.

Jason walked to a bench and set evaline down. "what would you say was the biggest hardship she ever faced?" Jason asked looking at her.

"When she was young," Evaline spoke, sort of following her cousin from a distance, "That was when we bound the metal to her skeleton. She screamed and cried for weeks. No one could get through to her. I think that is what made her like this. She feels that it was my fault that it happened." Evaline sighed, "And she's probably right."
