Are We Angels? Part 1

"Oh, no, it's a fruit. I heard some old people talking about it a week ago when they were feeding pigeons. At the base of my pedistal. Which sucks, because the birds crap all over my shell." Cai said, tossing her the tomato. "You wanna go first?"

Mephisto smiled lightly, he would be back. He could feel it. Either of his own will, or otherwise. After all, if he had told Rebecca and Cai that he needed this boy, they would bring him in.

Rebecca threw hers at a bunch of kids on bikes, hitting one in the face as the insides splattered onto the others in his group. Rebecca laughed, "Score!" she looked up, "Someone's in a hurry." she muttered, watching Jason fly overhead, "He looks like he just saw M in creepy mode."

"Ha hah, nice one!" Cai said as the bikers tumbled over. Cai picked up another fruit from his stash sitting beside him. "All right, my turn...." He said, looking for a good victim. When Rebecca mentioned it, Cai looked up. "Yeah. Hah, reminds me of me when I first saw M."

Jason shook his head. something was seriously messed up about that M guy. he didn't know what it was, but he didn't like it one bit. he returned his sword to it's sheath on his back and flew low, looking around for anymore signs of trouble. it kept nights interestinga fter all.

Rebecca nodded, "I wasn't that scared of him. But, he had just saved my life, so I wasn't going to complain too much." She laughed, "Hey, look at that one right there." she pointed out two kids making out at the base of a tree.

Jason saw below a robbery. a man was holding a frightened girl, who couldn't be much older than ten, as a shield. the second he moved the gun from her head jason used his control of electricity to bring the gun to his own hand. he swooped down and pulled the girl out of the way, leaving the police to rush the robber. He landed effortlessly by the girl's parents. he set the girl down gently, her clinging to his leg and thanking him. he kneeled down to her. "it's alright little one, you're safe now" he said softly to her. he plucked a feather from one of his wings and wiped her tears away and closed the feather in her little hand. "stay safe now" he said watching her run to her parent's arms. the little girl looked back just in time to catch him flying away.

Cai grinned widely and chucked the tomato, pegging one right in the head. "Why don't you mack on that!" He shouted, laughing.

Rebecca laughed, giving him a high-five, "Score!" she let her laughter die down, picking up a tomato, "Remember when M gave us that 'you can't let the mortals know about you' talk?" she chuckled, mimicking Mephisto's low voice.

Cai high-fived her back. "Yeah... I still don't get that. I mean, I understand why, I just don't know why it would be such a problem."

Maybe for some, the mortals knowning would be a problem. But Jason didn't have any problem. so far every town, every human that had seen him thought he was a true angel. On the news, he was reguarded as a hero, his picture being posted from various recording devices. they knew when they saw him.

"He said something about someone named Rachel." Rebecca thought back, "You know who she is?"

"Uh... no, never heard of her." Cai lied. He knew who she was. She was Rebecca's mother. ((That is correct, isn't it?))

Jason was sitting on the roof of a tall building, looking up at the full moon over head. he was lost in many thoughts now. so there were others like him, they didn't ACT like him. that M guy seemed more than a little evil. just something about him.

((Yeah, that's right.))
Rebecca nodded, tossing the tomato out on some kids that had... progressed a little further than the last couple.

Cai layed back on the train lauging. "Oh, that was rich! I wonder what they'll think when they see the tomato juice...." He said, sitting up and grabbing another tomato.

Jason was laying down on the roof now, usuing his wings as blankets. he often felt like he did now, alone. perhaps that was part of the reason he sang to himself, like he was doing now with "I'm still here" a song he had seen on some movie a few months back.

Rebecca smiled, "Glad you enjoyed that one." She looked up, "I wonder where that kid went flying off like that."

"I dunno. Off to the Bat Cave?" Cai joked.

Rebecca laughed, "Nice one! Reminds me of that comic book that kid was reading the day before yesterday about the 'X-Men' or something like that."

"Oh yeah, the one with that telekinetic chick? She was hot." Cai said.

jason sighed and sat up. he pushed off from the roof and spread his wings, flying high into the night sky. he just loved flying. this was one reason he was glad to be the way he was. he looked around at the city below, trying to think up something to do.

Rebecca rolled her eyes, "That's weird. You told me yesterday that I looked like her." She looked up at the sky, "Hey! There he is." she grinned, "You thinking what I'm thinking?"

Cai smirked. "Whatever. But that depends on what you're thinking."

Rebecca smiled, "Improvise with him. I love teasing vigilantes."

Jason didn't notice them. he let out some of the eletricity around him, causing a bit of a light show for anyone else who was looking.
