Jason moved in front her line of sight. "You have to let go of the past Adare." he said softly. He knew she could easily kill him too, but there was no fear in his eyes as he watched her.

"I'll let go of it when it lets go of me." She answered simply, turning on her heel and walking down the street.

Dianne walked around until she found Dominic, "What are you up to so early in the night?"

Dominic sighed and shut the large book he was staring at. "Nothing. Nothing at all. And to what do I owe this visit, Ms... Ward, is it?"

"Yes, it's Ward." Dianne smiled, picking up the book, "What's this?" She asked.

Jason took one quick leap and landed in front of her. "Don't walk away please. Let me help you." he said calmly. "I... I can make you forget" he said reluctantly.

"My mind is something I'd rather leave untouched, if you don't mind." She said simply, "However, if you don't want me to leave, then I won't."

"I know, but what book?" Dianne persisted.

"fair enough" Jason said nodding. "If you stay with me a few days I can make you feel emotion again" he said smiling a small bit at her.

Adare nodded, "I don't know about days, but until the sun starts to rise I can do."

"sorry it's an old habit from my human days i have yet to break" he said smiling a bit. "have you ever been to a carnival?" He asked.

Adare shook her head, "No."

Jason smiled at her. "well i'll take you to your first carnaval then" he said smiling and offering her his hand so he could lead her there.

"It was written by a vampire. One that openly admits his vampirism. He was burned at the stake during the dark ages. This is one of... nine remaining copies of his book, I believe. It's very interesting."

"If he was a good enough vampire, they wouldn't have caught him." Dianne pointed out.

Adare didn't take his hand, but followed him anyways.

"He wasn't worried about dying. He wanted to know what happens to vampires after they die."

Jason sighed a bit and led her there, where the lights were flashing and the ferris wheel was turning, the rides were going, and the vendors were making their calls. He smiled at her. "i'm going to teach you how to have a bit of fun first' he said.

Adare looked around, unused to all the chaos.

Dianne laughed, "Well, he found out, didn't he?"

Jason grabbed her arm and pulled her up to a booth and paid for a few small baseballs. ten feet away weighted bottles were stacked. "now the objective here is to knock down those bottles with one of these baseballs" he said handing her a ball.

((They had rollercoasters, actually. Patented in the late 1800's, I think.))

Dianne nodded, "Of course he did. I'm always right." she yawned.

Adare nodded, tossing the ball at the bottles, shattering them in what looked like an effortless toss.
