I Walk With the Dead- R.I.P.

Estelle shrugged, "Spare parts in the garage, and a few Articia got for me." She nodded toward Ryan, "She wouldn't hurt a fly. Leave her alone." She looked over her shoulder at Articia, "Mind helping me get this off? It's pulling down on that side." Estelle needed help getting the bolts that held it on unscrewed.

"would you mind if i examined it once you get it off so i can see how it works and see about designing somehing like it?" He asked.

"Just don't break it." She said with a quick grunt.

"oh trust me i won't. i'm good with this sort of thing" he said. waiting a bit eagerly to examine the arm.

Articia quickly unscrewed the bolts, and helped Estelle get the arm off.

There was nothing but a fourth of her arm left, the place where she took it off clearly not done by a professional, but she didn't have time to get to a professional. She handed the metal part to him with her natural arm, "Careful with that. I don't know if I could make another one." she smiled at Articia, "Thanks, Art."

Jason examined all the little wires and pieces of it. he blinked a bit. "this thing must be heavy. some of these parts aren't really necessary" he muttered looking at it. he had always loved mechanics, so he knew a lot about it.

"They are if I want it to work the way I designed it to." She said simply, "You know I can feel with that arm? I wired it up to connect to the pieces of nerves I have left so I can feel certain things in that arm."
((I saw some chick on the news who's nerve endings remained undamaged when she lost her arm and you could poke the spots where they moved them to and she could feel the arm that wasn't there. It was cool.))

"well they are needed but what i mean is you could combine some of these things into one piece. it would make it much lighter" he said glancing at the inner workings.

((I've heard something like that. Ghost pains I think is what it's called.))

Estelle frowned, "Look, you are more than welcome to try and build your own, but don't mess with mine."

Jason nodded. "okay i'll start on that." he said taking off his camo backpack and dumping out several metal parts. "okay so i'm a bit of a packrat" he said laughing nervously.

"Dude, you still have both your arms, why are you building one?"

Estelle shrugged, "I'm going to go to bed. You boys have a room down the hall. The door is open and the light is on, so it should be easy to find."

"well i almost lost one arm today. if i do wind up losing one i don't want to be caught unprepared" he said as he started working.

Ryan nodded, though uneasy about the idea of a zed in the house he would stay in.

"Great. I'm a test dummy." She muttered as she went to her room, the sound of a door closing following her.

Jason kept working on it. it seemed a bit odd he would start work so soon. he seemed to be enjoying it though.

"Yeah, well, I'm going to raid the house for a few Red Bulls, find a nice corner to crouch down in, and try not to let my guard down. Good luck with your... whatever you called it." He said, walking away.

Jason nodded and kept working. once he started something, he often went without sleep until it was done.

Articia yawned and stretched as she walked to her room and flopped unceremoniously on the bed. "'Night," she called through a mouthful of pillow.

The night passed by quietly, the moans of creatures coming from outside, but never managing to get in. When the morning came, the sun was covered by the gray haze of mid-morning clouds and fog, the sky threatening rain.

In the morning, Ryan was curled up in a corner holding his shotgun. He had a few empty cans of Red Bull around him, and one eye was half closed as the other was wide open.

Estelle came into the main room, which used to be where the services were given, "Good Lord, you look possessed, dead, or both." she said as she kicked his side lightly, "Paranoid..."

Ryan shook and fell over before he shot back up looking back and forth. "Ngh...."
