| "Some say the world will end in fire, Some say in ice. From what I've tasted of desire I hold with those who favor fire. But if it had to perish twice, I think I know enough of hate To say that for destruction ice Is also great And would suffice." - Fire and Ice by Robert Frost Creatures from every world have landed on Earth. Who's to say who will win and who will loose? Be your own person, or be the ruler of planets. Make alliances, or simply try to survive. Who you are is not who you will become. The War of the Worlds is taking place now, and you only have two options. Live or die. Characters:Misery De Lune Place of Origin: Venus Bio: Misery is the daughter of the King and Queen of Venus, but is remaining on Earth disguised as a human. She doesn't want the human race to be obliterated by the war and is trying to rescue as many as she can. Misery has the ability to heal others by simply touching them, but she has to relive their injury to heal it. Name: Jason Amaroq Origin: Mars Bio: The Romans of Earth were wise to name this planet after their god of war, for it has been immersed in a civil war for as long as recorded history on earth. Only very recently has it attained peace, and refuses to take part in the war against earth, since the population is critically unstable from the war. Jason, a veteran from the side of the war that fought for Freedom and Justice, decided to travel to earth, to help the humans. They are in the same position his people had been in for a long time amongst themselves, so he pities them and their plight. He is a master of Martian Martial arts as well as one hell of a shot with his plasma rifle. His right eye is gold, his left, a deep blue. the left eye is real, the right is a fake. he lost his right eye during the war, and had it replaced with a bionic eye that acts as binoculars, gun scope, data processor, X-ray, projector, and camera. his skin is normally as Red as the Martian landscape, but he uses a cloaking device to turn his skin to good human tan so he can go undiscovered. Name: James T. Murphy Origin: Louisville, Kentucky Bio: In a world filled with turmoil even the smallest pieces have their own story to be told. James, a PFC (Private First Class) in the United States Army, is one of those pieces. Joining the Army in the hectic state the world finds itself in seemed not only the sensible thing to do, but one of the last hopes of getting a ticket out of poverty.

| Misery De Lune had what one would call 'one of those faces'. She had a face that once you saw it once, you seemed to find it everywhere, even in places it wasn't and you searched for it in places it never would be purely on instinct. You never forgot her, weather you knew it or not. And that was both a blessing and a curse. As she ran through the streets, looking for someone, anyone, who looked like they would come with her to escape the oncoming onslaught of Mercurial soldiers, people looked once, a look of longing, possibly even lust, then returned to normal life, a few even daring to fantasize for a few minuites. These poor people... I guess ignorance really is bliss. | |

| A tall figure hidden under a dark cloak, a hood hiding the face, walked up to her. "these humans will never listen to you. they all believe that they are safe. they don't believe anything bad will ever happen to them." a voice spoke from under the hood. Jason pulled his hood down and stared into her eyes, one eye different from the other. "these humans won't understand until it's too late." he said again. "i've already tried talking to them" he said. "the only thing to be done is either fight for them or let them die" |

| Misery looked up, her own pitch-black eyes sending a cornucopia of emotions back, "Tell me how you know all of this." She said. "How do you know I'm not just another one of them?" Her disguise was flawless. She looked like a human. a supermodel, yes, but human. Her accent was distinctly British, definitely human, there was no way to tell she wasn't just like them, so this made her wonder: what was different about this man that he could tell she wasn't just like them? | |

| Jason smirked. his yellow eye turned green for a small second. "my golden eye is bionic. it has a mini scanning computer. your name is Misery and you hail from Venus. you are the daughter of the current king and queen" he said. "i lost this eye in one of the battles for mars" he said tapping the yellow eye. He knew full well he had given away his own origin as well. everyone knew the civil war that had ravaged mars for the last millennium. It was something all races save earthlings knew well about.

| Misery nodded, not speaking a word, though her actions, or lack thereof, seemed to tell far more. She held herself high, showing that she still had the air of authority that the princess of a strong planet should have. Her eyes were soft and weak, showing that either she had lived a hard life, or someone had hurt her beyond repair in the past. Her eyes also seemed nervous, so she had probably been removed of her station for one reason or another. She also seemed to radiate power and confidence, as if she had a secret only she knew. And the dead-set look of her jaw showed she wasn't going to be telling. "I am. And you are?" | |

| Jason waved off her question. "you need not know who I am. my name is not worth mentioning, though my ID number in the miltary was Z73193" he said as if that number was the only number he knew. "all i can tell you princess is that earth isn't safe for you. why are you here anyway? kinda the wrong planet for a pleasure trip right now isn't it?" he asked. he was not, by any means sexist. it was just that his side of the martian civil war had pleaded for venus's assistance early on, but was ignored. they pleaded often throughot the war but every time was ignored. the whole galaxy knew his side was the one that was right, but no one had helped. |

| "Your number is of little consequence to me. I need your name, and so that is what I asked for. If I wanted your number, I would have asked for it, now wouldn't I?" Her words were not harsh, just a gentle scolding like one issued to a rowdy child by their mother. She looked straight ahead of her, walking onwards as if she was eager to get them out of everyone's line of sight. Her walk was regal and elegant, loping down the sidewalk with a slight anxiousness to it. | |

| Jason looked at her. "If you must know, my name is Jason Amaroq. if you want to know anything about my past. just read up on the war." he said simply. His walk was more military like. He had been marching since he could walk so it was a strong habit now. "now if you please would you explin to me what a princess is doing on a world that is being invaded?" He asked. he wasn't being rude about asking either, just curious. "after all, this isn't exactly a luxary world. they think shiny stones are actually worth something" he said referring to diamonds. |

| "You mean diamonds, and to each his own, I suppose." She shrugged, referring to the abundance of them on Venus. They just used them to make weaponry. Misery hopped over a fallen column gracefully, avoiding the topic of why she was there. She looked back up at him though, and instantly knew he wasn't going to relent until she told him. This one bit of information couldn't hurt, could it? "I'm here for the humans. I'm not about to let another species almost go extinct because of the ignorance of Venus's rulers. My mother and father were wrong to stay out of the Martian war. They needed us and because of them, the planet was almost destroyed." | |

| Jason nodded. "i agree with you fully on that on. after alll.... i was the one that was sent to speak with them. i believe we saw each other once there" he said. "though my skin was red" he said. "i won't deny that their hospitality was generous, but by refusing to help us they let us suffer." he said. "you seem to be different though. i hope i'm not wrong." he said. "so what do you plan to do to help these humans?" he asked. he didn't know what she planed to do. he knew venusians were unmatched in brute strength, while martians excelled in technology, martial arts, and war tactics. Mercurians were the most brutal, and the hardest to kill. |

| Misery nodded, "And I had light blue skin and white hair." She smiled, referring to the look of the Venusian people. "I saw you. I pleaded with my parents to get them to send you help, but as usual I was ignored. They see my attempts at bringing peace to the galaxy as futile and a waist of funds. They prefer to stay neutral." She watched a girl run past them with a light smile, then her face returned to it's seriousness, "I don't know. Just save as many as I can. That's all I really can do." | |

| Jason sighed. "yes and by refusing to help they give the opportunity for people to take power. eventually, if they don't step in, the fight will find itself on their doorstep. the evil martians were planning on hitting venus next, just for the sake of irony." he said. "and with martian technology they likely would have won" he said simply. "if you're trying to save them, you have me for an ally" He said. "though the rest of my planet refused to give any assistance. since they recieved none during our own plight" he said. |

| Misery nodded, smiling lightly like sunbeams squeezing through the smallest of holes in a leaf and snuggling close to you to keep you warm. She bowed her head at an angle, her black, mysterious eyes still fixed on his face politely. It was considered common courtesy to the Venusians, but it looked so much better on her. "Thank you, I appreciate it. I need any help I can get right now." | |

| Jason smiled at her and nodded back to her. "you need not thank me. even if i wasn't here to help i doubt it would have taken you long to convince me" he said mysteriously. he had secretly had a crush on the princess since the first moment he met her, mostly since martian women weren't any prettier then earth women. the men were handsome beyond compare, but the women, not so much. similar to how venusian women were radiant beyond compare while the men were more like normal humans. |

| Misery laughed, "I strongly doubt that my powers of persuasion are that strong. Otherwise, I would have been able to help your people more in your civil war." She climbed the hill before them, now close enough that Jason would be able to see her huge ship on the horizon. It was of the traditional sleekness of most Venusian crafts, thin and lithe, much like their body's figures. They were the most high-tech in appearance of any of the other planets. It was that appearance that made many other planets retreat upon sight for fear that they were as skilled as they looked. | |

| Jason smirked but didn't say more. "well maybe it would be stronger on me" he said shrugging. with that he said no more. he smiled at her ship. "if only they were as high tech as they appeared to be" Jason said knowing their weakness. martian crafts looked pretty cool, but not high tech, but they really were the most high tech. "so are you the only Venusian here or are there others?" he asked looking at her as they walked. he was still curious to know more about her. his scanning eye could only id the basics. everything else had to be asked. |

| "Unfortunately, they never are." Misery smiled lightly, clamoring over a fallen column to get to her ship. She hopped inside, checking everything out to make sure it was all in one piece. With the children of Earth, you never knew when one had decided to get inside and check around for themselves, usually wreaking everything they possibly could and then some. Nevertheless, she knew that they were just curious and forgave them without hesitation. Thankfully, no one had messed with her things this trip out, so she moved on to the interior, which, to be blunt, looked like the Gates mansion in it's hay-day. "No. I'm the only one here. I usually travel by myself." | |

| Jason nodded. "i'm the only martian too. most of my people are still recovering from our own war and don't want to get caught in another one" he said. he looked around her ship. "you know with just a feww upgrades this could be one hellufa formidable ship" he said mostly to himself. he looked at her. "so is this where you live while you're here?" he asked looking at her. he hadn't come on a ship. he had used a martian planetary teleporter. it took a year to recharge itself so he was garunteed to stay on earth until that year was up.. |

| Misery nodded, "It is pretty formidable on it's own, but it could definitely stand a little work. I'm not the best pilot around." She blushed lightly, knowing that she had essentially told him that she had crashed the ship. She looked around, though to her this seemed modest, she knew that it must look amazingly elaborate to him. "It is. I've been staying here for a few months, if that helps to explain why I haven't been present at any of the planetary council meetings." | |

| Jason shrugged. "they don't let me delegate anymore so i wouldnt know." he said. "if you want me to upgrade the weapons and the steering column for you I will. I can help you become a better pilot too" he said smiling. "i was rated a first class fighter pilot. though when mars ran out of resources to build ships like that to keep up with the pace we destroyed them i became a ground troop" he said. He wondered if he could stay here, but he wouldn't ask that of a princess. "as for me i got here with a transporter. stupid thing takes a year to charge though so i'm going to be here awhile" he said not talking about where he had beeen living. |

| Misery nodded, soaking in everything he said like a sponge, taking a second to think on each word to sort through lie and truth. She was very good at sorting through lies. It was part of being a politician. Fortunately for him, everything he said sounded true enough to her. If she would have thought he'd been lying, he would have been out on the streets in no time. "You are more than welcome to stay here if you like." Misery offered, "If you're going to be here a while, I doubt you are going to find much better accommodations on this planet." She gave a quick, light smile, then her face went serious again, "If you feel a need to pay for it, then you can try doing something with the ship. It needs help, if I do say so." | |

| Jason nodded and tossed off his cloak, revealing the plasma rifle on his back, two martian plasma sabers at his hips, a multi use backpack, and a rather muscular form. He walked to the steering column and mechanical arms protruded from the backpack and helped his hands in messing with the consol. he put protective goggles on his eyes to make sure he didn't screw up his good eye. after not ten minutes he stepped away. the overly complicated steering column infamous on venusian ships was now just two levers. "these controls are simple. pull back to pull up. foward to dive. push the right one foward to turn left, the left one foward to turn right. slide the controls left or right to do a barrel roll. slide them up to ascend and down to descend." he explained quickly. "if you want i could show you how it all works right now" he said. "oh and the two buttons on top are weapons. i'm still working on how the targeting matrix will work though so don't mess with them yet" he said. |
