Mystique sat on the sill of her window, an old-fashioned glass soda bottle in hand, dangling between her knees. She looked down on all she had now: it was hers, but she hadn't earned it. Just like no one else in this city earned their life. They just told them what they wanted. And a vague description it was, too. It was enough that Perfection could still take their reward. Mystique knew all about them, though, she knew there were ways to get out of giving them your soul in exchange for perfection.

Reighn and Brayden ran down the street, loud yelling and screaming followed them. They turned a corner and hid in a door way. Reighn opened her mouth to say something but Brayden covered her mouth with his hand to silence her, pointing at the street where their fans ran, chasing them where the fans had assumed they went. Once Brayden was sure all the fan girls/guys had passed, he uncovered Reighn's mouth and sighed.
"Shoo...who knew it would be so difficult being famous..." Brayden spoke in a thick Finish accent.
Reighn nodded her head and pulled her hair back in place, which a few guys had managed to tug out of place and leave it in disarray.
"I say we head back to our place, what do you say Bradie?" Reighn asked, using the nickname she had given Brayden years ago.
"I agree, I'm wiped out."
The pair headed back to their apartment, more like condo, which was up on a top level of a very wealthy complex.

Mystique turned back in toward her house. Most people asked to have their soulmate when they ordered their life, but Mystique was different. Her's would find her when he was good and ready. If he even existed. She walked into her kitchen and looked for something to eat. She was awfully hungry.

Brayden jerked off his jacket and covered Reighn's head with it.
"To keep you hidden from our lovely fans..." Brayden said with a smile.
Reighn giggled lightly and let Brayden tuck her in under his arm.
They continued walking as the night began to fall.

Alesana kicked open the door to Mystique's house and bounced in without waiting for an invitation. They had been friends for so long that this was practically normal. AJ followed her, flopping down on the couch the second he got inside. "'M tired..." He mumbled, rolling over and curling up into a ball. Alesana smacked him on the butt and said, "Get your lazy a** in your own bed if you're tired."
AJ grumbled and got up, stumbling down the stairs to the basement. He missed the last step and cursed loudly. Alesana giggled.

Mystique poked her head out of the kitchen, a milk mustache on her upper lip, "Welcome home!" She shouted, then smiled mischievously. Those two were so much fun to have around. Never in a million years would she let them leave without a fight. Al was her best friend, and A.J.... he was something else entirely.

Brayden frowned when he saw what stood outside their apartment door.
"We can't go home just yet Reighn..."
Reighn groaned loudly and was cut off by Brayden's hand and a silencing look. He whipped out his phone and hit speed dial six.
"You better pick up Mystique..."

Mystique answered her phone on the second ring, "Bonjure, amis!" she called in a high-pitched french accent.

"Problem, apartment over run with fans. We need a place to crash for the night, is your floor open for 2?" Brayden replied in his thick Finnish accent.

"Oui, monsieur. I have three guest rooms upstairs, though I'm sure you and your mademoiselle are going to be sharing one. There is a spare key by the door under the stone with the ruby in it." Mystique said quickly. Brayden had always been a good friend. She owed him more than she would care to admit.
