In a galaxy far, far away... [Reboot] Empty
PostSubject: In a galaxy far, far away... [Reboot]   In a galaxy far, far away... [Reboot] Icon_minitimeTue Jul 08, 2014 9:23 pm

It has been many centuries since the end of the Golden age of the Galactic Republic.  And it is still several decades till the start of the Clone Wars.  The Republic Senate is growing ever more corrupt.  Disunity begins to appear in the very heart of the Republic.  The Sith, a faction of force users who serve the Darkside, have been in hiding sine the death of Darth Bane.  The Jedi, the Lightside equivalent of the Sith, serve as diplomatist and generals for the Republic and help settle disputes.  Unbeknown to the rest of the Galaxy, the Sith plot the very down fall of the Republic and the Jedi Order...

The Races (these are only a few.):
Humans: Humans dominate the Core Worlds and can be found in virtually every corner of the galaxy.  They are the ancestors of early spacefaring pioneers, conquerors, traders, travelers, and refugees.  Humans have always been people on the move.  As a result, they can be found on almost every planet.  As a species, Humans are physically, culturally and politically diverse.  Hardy or fine, light skin or dark, humans remain one of the most dominant species throughout the galaxy.

Bothans: Native to Bothawui, these short, fur covered humanoids have had hyperspace technology for thousands of years.  Bothans use information as a measure of wealth and power, even wielding it as a weapon when necessary.  The Bothan SpyNet, one of the largest intelligence agencies, can find out almost anything.  Culturally, Bothans don't believe in direct conflict because it destroys people, material, and even information.  They prefer behind the scenes manipulation, watching and waiting for information that they can use to gain status and influence.  This attitude makes espionage a natural part of their culture.  While others often find Bothans to be manipulative and irritating, no one wants to lose access to their SpyNet.

Duros: Tall, hairless humanoids from the Duro system, Duros were one of the first species to become a major influence in the Galactic Republic, and many respected scholars credited the Duros with creating the first huperdrive.  The Duros have a natural affinity for space travel, possessing an innate grasp of the mathematical underpinnings of astrogational computations.  Many tales are swapped in cantinas about Duros astrogarots calculating the coordinates for supposedly impossible jumps in their heads.  Although not as nummerus as Humans, the Duros are almost as omnipresent; all but the smallest settlements in known space feature Duros populations.

Ithorians: Ithorians are tall humanoids whose appearance leads many to refer to them colloquially as “Hammerheads.”  Peaceful and gentle, Ithorians are widly recognized as talented artists, brilliant agricultural engineers, and skilled diplomats.  Ithorians are perhaps the greatest ecologists in the galaxy, devoting their technology to preserving the natural beauty of their homeward’s jungles.  They live in “herds,” dwelling in cities that hover above the surface of their planet and striving to maintain the ecological balance in the “Mother Jungle.”

Kel Dor: The Kel Dor evolved on Dorin, a world with an atmosphere consisting mostly of helium and a gas that is unique to that world.  As such, Kel Dor cannot breathe on planets with common nitrogen/oxygen atmosphere is toxic to most nonnative life.  On other planets, Kel Dor dwellings provide their native atmosphere (stored in large tanks).  When outside, Kel Dor must wear breath masks and goggles.  They can neither see nor breathe without these devices.  Most Kel Dor must shout to produce sound in other environments.  Their eyesight, however, is enhanced when they are away from Dorin.

Twi’leks: From the dry, rocky world of Ryloth, Twi’leks have made a place for themselves along the galactic rim.  These tall, thin humanoids include a variety of distinct subraces, but are all instantly recognizable by the tentacular “head-tails” (called lekku) that protrude from the backs of their heads.  Sly, calculating beings, Twi’leks prefer to avoid trouble and stick to the shadows until an opportunity to act without undue danger to themselves present itself.  Their entrepreneurial spirit frequently leads them to positions of influence, and Twi’lek corporate executives are no less common then unscrupulous Twi’lek freighter captains and crime lords.

Wookiees:  Wookiees are widely recognized as one of the strongest and fiercest intelligent species in the galaxy.  Wookiees have many customs and traditions that revolve around honor and loyalty, including the special bond called the honor family and the sacred pledge called the life debt.  A Wookiee never uses his or her claws in combat; doing this is considered dishonorable and a sign of madness.

The Force:
The Force was a metaphysical, binding, and ubiquitous power that held enormous importance for both the Jedi and Sith monastic orders. The Force was viewed in many different aspects, including, but not limited to, the light side, the dark side, the Unifying Force, and the Living Force. The first two aspects were concerned with the moral compass of the Force in its various manifestations. The light side of the Force was the facet aligned with compassion, courage, healing, and benevolence, while the dark side of the Force was the element aligned with hatred, fear, aggression, and malevolence. The latter two aspects were defined by prominent Jedi philosophies: The Unifying Force essentially embraced space and time in its entirety while the Living Force dealt with the energy of living things. Though the Force was categorized in this way, there were no specific abilities or powers that were only usable by a follower of a different path of the Force; the Force partially existed inside the life forms that used it, and drew energy from their emotions.

Force traditions:
The Jedi Order: An ancient monastic peacekeeping organization unified by its belief and observance of the Force, specifically the light side. The Jedi were the guardians of peace and justice in the Galactic Republic, and became the most famous of the various groups that relied on the Force for their power. Led by a series of Jedi Councils, the Order grew over the millennia despite facing many trials, most often threats from the Sith, wielders of the dark side of the Force.

The Sith: The Sith were the most infamous of all dark side religions, and the members of the cult were often seen as the pinnacle of power within the dark side. Throughout their long history, the Sith commanded several Empires and initiated many galactic wars. With such great influence, the Sith religion inspired many cults that weren't technically part of the Sith Order, nor did they consist of actual Sith. Instead, they were founded and made up of Sith devotees and other Force-sensitives dedicated to prolonging the teachings and the memory of the Sith.

In a galaxy far, far away... [Reboot] Epic_Battles
War!  After the Republic victory on Geonosis, the Clone Wars have spread like wildfire across the galaxy.  The Confederacy of Independent Systems (CIS) has convinced thousands of star systems to break away from the now crumbling Republic.  The Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) is made up of clone soldiers bread from the DNA of infamies bounty hunter Jango Fett.  The GAR is lead to battle by the Jedi Order who have laid down the role of peace keeper for general.  The CIS army is made up of millions of battle droids and armies of allied planets.  The CIS is under the command of Count Dooku, a Sith Lord, the age old enemy of the Jedi order.  The time has come to choose sides.  It is far from clear who will come out on top.  The Republic and the CIS will need as many soldiers as they can get to gain the advantage over the enemy.  The Clone Wars have began.

Choose your side then choose your role.

Republic: The Republic, led by a Supreme Chancellor, had a supposedly democratic government that was able to sustain itself for over twenty-five thousand years. For most of its duration as the dominant galactic power, the Republic did not style itself as a strong centralized government, but rather as a union or alliance of planets for the purposes of promoting trade, mediating disputes, and mutual protection. It is said that its complete history would "fill a thousand libraries".

Trooper/Commando: Join the ranks of the GAR as a clone.  You have complete and unquestioning loyalty to the Republic.  If you join the ranks of the ARC troopers, you have not been brain washed as much as the standard troopers and can take different paths.

Jedi: Join the Jedi order to help lead the GAR.  Your ally is the force and you are a formidable opponent to the CIS.  The Jedi Orders main concern is to shorten the war as much as possible, so that the Republic may return to the norm and the Supreme Chancellor will give up his powers.

Senator/Bureaucrat:  You are a member of the Galactic Senate.  You help make decisions concerning trade, troop movement, and diplomacy.  Depending on who you are, your vote may be bought.  Or you may be the senator of a besieged system.  Your chooses will impact the course of this war.

The Confederacy of Independent Systems:  The Confederacy of Independent Systems (CIS), also known as the Confederacy, the Separatist Confederacy, the New Order, the pro-secessionists colloquially as Separatists, or Seps for short, and lesser known as the "Separatist Alliance", was the government and separatist movement publicly led by Count Dooku, a.k.a. Darth Tyranus, (and secretly led by Darth Sidious) formed by various planetary and sectorial governments, as well as some mega-corporations, that declared intentions to leave the Galactic Republic, refusing to comply with the excessive taxation, and due to the corruption in the Senate during the Separatist Crisis.

Droid:  Dispite the main force of the army being without personality or any other form of individualism, there were some command droids that did develop personalities to better them as commanders.

Dark side Acolyte:  You are a servant of the Darkside.  You aspire to one day call yourself a Sith Lord, but due to the Rule of Two, you will not get that chance as long as Darth Tyranus and Darth Sidious are in power.  Nevertheless you lead the armies of the CIS, assassinate Republic targets, or hunt Jedi.

Council member:  You are on the Separatist Council.  You are the decision making body for the CIS.  Although you are technically in control the fear of the Sith make you fallow their lead most of the time.  You are a major target for the Republic.  The fewer members of the council there are, the sooner the war will end.

Other:  There are some freelancers who will fight for the highest bidder, but if you do, choose wisely.  You will gain a reputation of serving one side over the other.  You wont be neutral for long in this war.
