The girl took her gently in her arms, bowing her head gratefully. She held onto 1225's hand, with her eyes closed. She opened her eyes back up, laying 1225's hand on the wound with her hand on top of it. She muttered something in either Chinese or Japanese. She handed her back to him, "What are your names?"

"i'm 2518 and this is 1225" he said, not even thinking about a letter name.

"No, your name." She said again.

He blinked. "what do you mean?" he asked utterly confused. that was the only name he had ever had.

"I'm Mei." she told him. "Are you still using numbers?"

He had to think on it but he nodded. "yeah we just escaped about fifteen minutes ago" he said motioning back the way they had come.

She looked over at him, "Come with me. And the next time anyone asks your name, tell them it's Jason."

"uhh okay?" He said still a bit confused as he followed her, still holding 1215 in his arms.

Mei led him through the woods to a human village. As they passed, one or two people stopped to say hello, or to offer a helping and with 1225. Mei took them to a small hut. She laid 1225 down on her bed, and pulled Jason aside, "How did you escape?"

"well I was in construction so I used a heavy driller to get us as far as the gate. From there we walked. something shot her and I fired back with this rifle that I.... "borrowed" he said. "I just picked her up and ran after that. Why do you ask?" he wondered.

"Just making sure you aren't spies. It wouldn't be the first time it's happened." Mei said simply.
1225 groaned, "Where are we now?" she whispered, "Is anyone there?"
Mei stood next to her, "Can you not see? You're in the village."
1225 bit her lip, not saying anything.

Jason sighed. "she's blind" he said softly, he sat down next to her and gently ran his fingers through her hair. "it's alright i'm still with you" he said soothingly to her.

1225 felt for his hand, exhaling in relief.

Jason smiled softly down at her and held her hand gently. he looked up at Mei, it's alright, she hides it pretty well" he said looking back down at her. he wished she could see that they were safe now.

Mei walked to the door, "I'm going to find someone who you need to see. I'll be back."

Jason nodded. "We're at the village now. Apparantly my name is Jason now" he said smiling down at her. "what do you want your name to be?" he asked.

he smiled down at her and held her hand gently. "well we'll think of something" he said gently.
