Claire nodded, continuing dancing, "As surprising as it would be to most that someone as attractive as yourself hasn't gotten, I believe the term is 'laid' now, I know you well enough to say that doesn't surprise me much. You've always been the charming, romantic gentleman sort. It's one of the things that I've always loved about you. It sort of feels as though you were plucked out of a storybook."

Edward smiles as he spun Claire around. "You know if I had a dime for every time a girl has said that to me, I would be a millionaire. Well.. not that I'm one already, but you get the point." He said as they danced lightly to the classical music. The song finished and Edward slowly sat down on the floor.

"Then it must be true." she smiled, laughing happily. It was nice for the calm... To not have to keep running, to have someone know about her and understand it all... She never had to hide anything from Edward. Trusting him was just natural. She sat down with him, folding her legs to her side, since she was wearing a dress. "And if you're so rich, maybe you wouldn't mind me mooching off of you for a few more days. With all this snow outside... Sleeping out there is getting tiring."

Edward smiled, showing his small fangs. "I wouldn't calling it mooching at all. Carlisle and Esme doesn't mind having you here. Who knows, they might even take you in as their own. That's how we acquired Alice, Jasper, Rosalie and Emmett." he said elegantly

Belle smiled, "I'm glad it doesn't trouble you. My homelessness is quite a bother when weather is as bad as it is now. Not to mention I was hoping to welcome in the new year with you." she chuckled, running her fingers through her now-tangled hair.

Edward stood up "Hold on a second and i'll be right back" He ventured into Alice's bathroom. What have I got myself into? he asked him self while looking for a hairbrush. After 5 minutes of searching, he found the stash of hairbrushes. He grabbed one and walked back into his room. Edward handed the brush to Claire "Here ya go" he said

Belle smiled, "Thanks... Long hair is such a pain..." she murmured the last part, then took the brush and combed through her hair until it was smooth again. She laid it in her lap, looking Edward in the eyes, "Thank you for letting me stay, though. I don't mean to be a bother, and if I become such, feel free to kick me out."

Edward took the hairbrush and set it down on the bed. "Honestly, I could never see you as a pain. You think down on yourself way to much." He said smiling. "You know, I never asked you, how did you become homeless anyways. I mean, what happened to your parents?" he asked

"Dead." she said simply. "They were killed by the vampire who turned me." she paused, thinking back, "My mother had opened our house to a stranger one winter. Once he was inside, he killed both of them, drinking them dry. He bit into my neck, intending to do the same..." she opened her eyed, "But he suddenly stopped, and just left me there. I managed to get outside before the house burned down. I was left in the streets while I finished turning, and haven't had anywhere to live since."

"That's most unpleasant. I remember when Carlisle changed me all those years ago." Edward said "You know what, I'll ask Carlisle if you can stay with us for a while. I mean where else do you have to go? Its either stay here and be safe, or battle the drama on the streets."

Belle smiled, "Thank you. I'd ask him myself, but I'd feel like... oh, what's the word..." she paused, "Like I was inviting myself where I wasn't wanted. You know the saying; fish and visitors smell in three days." she laughed, "But since you're offering, then I don't feel bad."

"Its no problem at all. I've been kinda lonely lately." Edward said while standing back you "After Bella left, I really don't what to do anymore. She took Renesme with her and said she won't be back. ever. Even if I did turn her into a vampire" Edward started walking to the door "But nevermind that, lets go and talk to Carlisle about this and see what he thinks."

Belle stood, straightening her skirt and brushing her hair over her shoulder. She put her arms around Edward, hugging him lightly with her head on his chest, "I'm sorry... That wasn't right of her to do that to you." she said kindly, then let go.

"It's fine. She clearly wanted Jacob over me. It was only a matter of time before she actually left. When Renesme started dating, our marriage started to fall apart." Edward said. "But we need to take care of you first" he added while walking down the stairs.

Belle nodded, saying nothing further, but offering herself to him in case he needed her in her usual silent way. That was just how she was; supporting from the shadows, never seen or heard, but always felt. She gave his arm a light squeeze, letting him know she had heard him, then continued walking.

Edward walked down the steps while holding on to Claire. They got to the bottom of the stairwell and walked into the kitchen, where the rest of the family was sitting around a chatting. Once Edward and Claire walked into the room, silence fell upon the room. "Hey guys" Edward said in his usually genuine tone "I know this might be a weird time to ask you think but i think it's completely necessary"

Claire looked around the room, meeting all of their eyes, and though they all knew her, Rosalie still wouldn't even speak to her. Carlisle stood, so as to be eye-to-eye with Edward, nodding lightly, "Go on. You can ask me whatever you like, son." his tone was cordial and friendly, as usual.

Edward nodded, meeting Carlisle eye contact "Claire and I were upstairs talking. She told me everything about her life and how she lives on the streets every single night." Edward looked down "I was just wondering if it was alright if she stayed with us for a while. I mean she's not going to hurt anything"

Carlisle nodded, understanding what Edward was talking about. He thought it over, "It's fine by me, but I think we should put it to a vote, just to make sure everyone else is alright with it, too."
Claire nodded, "That sounds right to me."

Edward nodded in agreement. He watched as Carlisle asked the question very plain and simple to his whole family. Alice, Esme, Jasper and Emmett voted yes as Rosalie voted no. Edward hated how Rosalie always apposed Edwards ideas.

Belle nodded, smiling lightly. To her, this wasn't just staying over at a friend's house; it was having a home for even just a few days. Even though Rosalie didn't want her there, she knew that Rosalie didn't like much of anything. "Thank you, Mr. Cullen. I don't mean to invade your home like this..."
