Cyberspace: R.I.P.

Jason saw where she was running and lunged at the guards, teleportin behind them and blasting one in the head and doing the same to the other before too long. he grabbed angel's wrist and half lead, half dragged her away. "come on, lets get going before more of them show up" he said looking back at her.

Angel grabbed onto Hayden, pulling her after them, "Come on!" She shouted, pushing her guitar onto her back and tightening the straps so it didn't swing back around and hit anything.

Jason dragged the two girls a good few miles before stopping in an alleyway, breathing heavily. "that was too close" he muttered checkin to be sure they weren't followed. He seemed much more serious then he had been a mere five minutes ago before the attack. it was like he was a different person.

"Yah..." Angel panted, "It was..." She looked up at him, a questioning look in her eyes, "So you've been out of the system before..."

Jason looked at her and nodded. "yeah... i have" he said. "it wasn't easy getting out, and now i wish i stayed out" he muttered keeping lookout for more agents.

Hayden stared at Jason in disbelief.
"If you got out, why the bloody hell would you come back in? It's a fool's mistake to return, especially if you were lucky to get out."
((This would be a good time to mention Hayden is British =D))

Jason looked at her. "because i was told that there were people in here who were aware that this was a system, and that they could help me release the people of cyberspace" he said calmly. "apparantly you two are the ones" he said looking at them.

"I learned about it from some other hackers when I was online." Angel explained, "Sometimes, I don't make a lot just playing on street corners. I have a knack for computers, so I get paid to hack into systems for people."

Hayden turned towards the sky, she saw a flash of the infamous 010001 code shoot across the sky.
"If you have experience with computers, you'd know it was a system as soon as you got in."

Jason nodded to them. "well since you're now in this with me, i gues you should be armed" he said opening up his jacket and handing them each two magnums. "use those on agents only if you can't escape. agents kill most of us. i'm one of the few that has managed to kill agents" he said.

Angel nodded, then suddenly remembered the guitar on her back. It would be difficult to do anything with it on, but she would feel horrible about it later if she just left it. It had saved her through more hard times than she cared to remember.

Hayden nodded.
"I doubt agents will come for me and Angel, we haven't left yet and as long as you don't display your knowledge, they don't come after you."

Jason looked at angel. "if you want i could give your guitar the upgrade that mine has so you can use it for a weapon as well." he offered then looked at hayden. "they don't need you to display it. they already know. they come after you the second you can use it against them. which happened the second you spoke to me" he said grimly.

"I don't know about you, but I want out." Angel said confidently, "I'm sick of this whole 'city of the future' stuff. It's totally bogus and I can't take it any longer."

Hayden nodded at Angel.
"I want out too, this place makes me sick. It makes me feel like I'm a mouse in a science lab."

"well you both better stick close to me. getting out isn't easy. it will help that you two are hackers. i take a long time to hack systems so despite all i did i was still almost caught" he said. "though with you two we can get out a whole lot faster" he said smirking.

Angel nodded, glad that she could be helpful for once. Her hacking skills hadn't done much of anything for her parents... The way that the machines outside the system were growing humans like plants and using their bodies as batteries to power them made her ill just to think about it. That's what had happened to her parents. They were picked early because they had a lot of energy in them.

Hayden stared blankly at the magnum in her hand. She had no real reason to get out, except to be free of the place. Her family was dead, her friend, she had none. Her only friend had been her boyfriend, who had been killed for knowing too much.
"I'm sure with Angel and me working together, getting out can't be too hard."
Hayden said still staring at the magnum with no expression.

Jason nodded. "we'll get out somehow" he said with a confidence that was hard to place in origin. He rose and looked out. "either of you have a hideout we can use?" He asked.

"Um... I have an apartment." Angel said, pointing down the street with her thumb, "It's kinda a mess, but I've got some pretty high-tech computer stuff."

"I have some computer equipment in my apartment I can take over there."

"If I don't have it, you probably do." Angel guessed.

"Same here. I have a box full of USB flash drives, there loaded with viruses and programs. They could be useful."

Jason pulled a USB drive from his pocket. "this contains all the information you'll ever need. you may be able to escape detection if you chose to leave now. but if you see this, the agents will be after you." he said with a definite note of seriousness.

Angel nodded, "Come on. My apartment is this way."
