| 1. Later Quotes cannot contradict earlier ones. 2. Anyone can join in whenever they want. 3. First a person writes down a text, it can be anything from single sentence to grand speech or song, as long as it's not taken from somewhere. Author provides no context for this quote. 4. Next poster replies by adding who said the above quote and providing any additional context for it, then giing their own quote. And so on. Think of it as climatic fragments of fluff from RPG book or quotes on M:tG cards.
"Five continents. From sweeping and vast Vaheln to Mountainous and Deadly Nordswark. Each built upon the ruins of the First Peoples. Each imperiled by threats innumerable."

"To the south lies Nordswark, a near barren and inhospitable land whose only redeeming factors are it's mighty peaks, and it's wildlife who somehow seem to survive otherwise. The peaks that which seemingly cut the earth with it's great shadows as they face the ever so radiant mid day sun."

"So, you wish to learn the arcane arts, do you? Let me guess, you saw someone throwing a fireball, raising a corpse golem, thought it'd be a nifty trick, but don't want to make a sacrifice to one of the various gods?
...
Listen, lad, Land Magic, despite being one of the more forgiving blends of grey magic, isn't something you learn in a day. It takes literal years to learn the rituals, find a place of power to draw forth energy, AND craft a focus."

"In this world, thar be three peoples. That what is called humans, the sea folk, deep beneath the waves, chitonous in form and industrious in pincers, and Trolls. Some might think Trolls myths, but take it from one who lost his leg to em, trolls are real, real enough to dine on any unfortunate sailor who offends them."

"These trolls be not the kinda ya hear in stories, I'll tell ya h'wat. They're quite the large and gluttonous beings built to ravage anything that be comin' their way. What I advise, is take an ax like dis here, and hack at the back of their heels. Should be enough to let ya escape. Send a warning to them why don't ya? Tellin' them we mean business."

"Thirteen Men of King and Crown Thirteen Men of great Renown Thirteen Men that heard the sound The trumpets call to war.
Great were arms, bold and brave Great were hopes, be high and saved Great were their spirits, could not be staved Until they tasted war.
One by one, the enemy fell One by one, they learned as well One by one, that war was hell When Blood was all they dreamed of.
The Men of Valor were the first to fall The Men of Strength gave their all The Men of Cunning met their call Till only one remained
The Man left standing, full of strife The Man left standing, took his life The Man Left standing, no blade or knife, Stood watchful evermore.
A caution to men, Time and again, To fear the call of war."

| - Dirge of Blades, written by Skaggi Gundersson, after the War of Shattered Blades, a horrible, bloody war fought by the nations of Kivits and Vesir, on the continent of Nordswark, long time rivals. Kivits declared war after Vesir supposedly tresspassed on a Kivitite node. Skaggi, a Kivitite general, wrote the poem promptly before jumping off the highest tower in his kings castle, after he 'won' the war.
"The first peoples. Little to nothing is known about them. Long ago, when the world was just mist, before the gods had come to this world from Elsewhere, they inhabited the world. Legend says that they had magic unparalleled, that the weakest one of their land mages could destroy mountains and raise the dead with ease, could open holes into the underworld and call upon its residents.
Then they died in a manner we believe to be violently bloody, devoured by the Hungry Ones. More savage and violent than the trolls ever were, the Hungry Ones are, thankfully, deceased themselves."
