Jason chuckled. "glad to see i made an impression on them" he whispered to her. for a whole german task force to be looking for one man meant he was being a major thorn to them.

Bella smiled, "You've made an impression on all of us." she whispered softly, "The only question is how we get out of here. I've heard them say that the rest of us got out. We went toward France. But they overheard that you were still here."

Jason nodded slowly. "yeah the hard part is getting us out" he whispered. he knew they were highly outnumbered.

Bella took off her hat, her hair falling around her neck. She had let it grow a little, somehow managing to hide it, "I might be able to draw them away. They probably won't kill me." She shrugged, still speaking in a whisper, "After all, I do fit into their whole 'Airian Race' things, as well as I can speak German. I can make them think I'm one of them."

Jason shook his head. "that's way too risky. plus the second they find out you're in my unit they would use you specifically to get to me." he said.

Bella smiled, "Believe it or not, I'm pretty good at getting out of tight situations. When Isaiah would play pirate with his friends, I'd somehow always end up as the hostage. I can get out of almost any knot you put me in."

Jason shook his head. "either way i don't want to take that chance." he said. 'this isn't a game remember" he added.

"I know, but I wish you'd let me play, nonetheless." She smiled lightly, "I can take care of myself."

"I can get out." She argued, "And unless you have a better idea, then we are just going to have to try it."

"let's wait for a bit, maybe the american army will get here in time" he said. he didn't want to risk her life if he could avoid it.

Bella sighed, "We'll wait three hours. If they aren't here by then, then we go with my plan."

The hours ticked by, the tension growing with each one, until Bella looked down at her watch, "It's been three and a half hours, Jason. You can't hold me back this time."

Bella nodded, climbing out of their hole and pointing and shouting something in German. The troops nodded in understanding, the commanding officer shouting an order to his troops as they all left. Bella smiled and looked over to Jason, "It worked."

Jason peeked out of the hole. 'so now we have to make a run for it?" he asked looking at her.

Bella nodded, "Yah." she looked up through the trees, then pointed to her left, "That way."

Jason nodded and walked next to her, keeping quiet so they could hear an attack comming long before they were under attack.

Bella crept alongside him, her hair still down around her shoulders. If they were to come across the American army now, there was no way they wouldn't see her as a woman. And as Isaiah.

Jason kept moving. he wasn't even thinking about that. he was more concerned with getting out alive.

Almost immediately after they cleared the forest, they stumbled onto a grop of soldiers looking for them. One put a hand on Jason's shoulder, "Sergent, where is Isaiah?"
He looked over at Bella, his eyes growing wide, "Oh, god..."

Jason turned the soldier's face to him, his own eyes piercing into the young soldier's soul. "if you breath a word of her secret to anyone i will personally make this war a worse hell for you" he said in a low whisper. the other two soldiers in the group were from jason's squad, and he knew he could trust them to keep the secret. it was just this outsider he had to watch.
