Kyira, Bella, Marcello, and Zane: How It All Began

Later that night:
At Kyira's house, the mood seemed to be as lifeless as Bella is now. Zane, flipping TV channels blankly, Marcello trying to solve a rubex cube... dull.

Kyira laid in the bathroom, holding a pair of scissors after she had cut a few things. She'd been so depressed she'd tried to cut, but knew Bella wouldn't want that. So she stopped and just sat there with the scissors in hand while she stared at the wall.

There was a knock at the door, Zane heard shouting, "I've got it!" and the clatter of plastic on the floor of the main room.

Kyira dropped the scissors and stumbled out of the bathroom, grabbing the couch for support.
"What's going on...?"
Kyira looked horrible and she felt horrible.

Bella was standing in the door, clutching a coat to her naked body, "I-I woke up in the morgue." she said softly, blood stained the line on her neck, but her body looked completely healed.

Kyira stared at Bella, shock written all over her face. A few seconds later a loud thud indicated Kyira had fainted.

When Kyira woke back up, Bella had borrowed some of her clothes and was dressed, a scar was on her neck from where her throat had been slit. "Are you ok?" She asked in the same, familiar, concerned tone. She looked alive again. Her cheeks were rosy pink, as were her lips. Her skin wasn't as pale as it had been, now, it looked fleshy and alive.

"How...in the holy hell...are you still alive?"

"I don't know." She shrugged, "I woke up in the morgue of the hospital stark naked and I grabbed a jacket and ran over here. Never felt better."

"You have to have a God working on your side..."

"I guess so." Bella smiled, laughing like she always had before. "You were right about my mom." she mumbled, hugging Kyira tightly.

"When have I been wrong about her?"

"Never." Bella smiled, "I just wish I would have listened sooner. This was all my fault."

"I do too."
Kyira sighed as she sat up and rubbed her head, feeling a warm liquid on her hand as she pulled it back.
"Damn, must have cut my head..."

Bella frowned, "You're hurt!" she touched her bloody fingers to Kyira's lip, which was also bleeding. Her blood was moist and warm, but there were no longer any injuries on her.

"Damn, Zane, can you bring me a wet cloth or something please?"
Kyira wiped her mouth off and held her hand to her head.

Zane did as he was told, coming back and wiping off her head, "Kyira..." He whispered, "There isn't a cut back here."
The split on her lip was gone as well.
Marcello knelt next to Bella, "I have a theory." he bit his hand, bringing blood to the surface, then touched Bella's hand to his lip like she had done to Kyira. The injury on his hand healed as soon as Bella's blood touched his lips.

"What the bloody hell...?"
Kyira felt her head and there was no blood there.

"It would appear as though Bella's blood can heal people." Marcello observed.
"Um... guys? Look at this." Zane pointed out the window.
Fireballs were falling from the sky.

Kyira's eyes widened as she went to stand beside Zane.
"This is not good..."

"Um... no. Very not good." Zane looked as more fell with increasing speed and frequency.
Marcello stretched and a rip noise was head, followed by Bella gasping.

Kyira's head snapped around as she looked towards Bella.
"What?! What happened?"

Marcello pointed to his back, where two white angel wings were spread out across the room. "You and I both have those tattooed on our back..." Zane mused.

Kyira turned and looked at Zane.
"You think you could do the same thing...?"

Zane took off his shirt, "I can try."
He stretched his arms the same way Marcello had, and Zane's tattoos turned into real wings as well, only blacker.
