Belle smiled, "Alright. If you think so." she sighed lightly as she sat down, allowing herself to be immersed in the sights, sounds, and smells of the forest, "Do you remember being human?" she asked in an almost whisper. There was an evident curiosity in her voice, as though she truly didn't remember much of anything about her own past even though she and Edward were almost the same age.

This took Edward by surprise. He was never really asked that question before. He smiled as he replied "I remember some about being a human. Its all still a huge blur. I guess that's what you get for living over 100 years." He laughed showing his razor sharp fangs.

Belle smiled a bit, "Same here. Isn't it weird? Not being able to remember your family? I mean, from what I understand, a person's family can be such a huge part of them..." she sighed, looking up at the sky as a group of birds flew overhead. Belle wasn't as lucky as Edward. He had a vampire family, too, so it wasn't as if he felt as though he was missing one. Belle, on the other hand, was a bit of a drifter, just going where she felt pulled too. Even if that usually pulled her to Edward.

Edward couldn't agree more. "I know, its a big too odd, but its whatever. I try to live in the present and let Alice tell me my future" Edward giggled. He was trying his best to cheer Belle up. So far, it didn't seem like it was working. But Edward understood why she was so concerned about it; Its not like everyday you see a living creature killed right in front of your eyes.

Belle smiled a bit, then chuckled at Edward's joke. She wrapped her arms around him in a hug, resting her head on his chest, but not saying a word for what seemed like a long time, "Thanks, Edward. Somehow, you always know how to make me happy again." She smiled brightly, then let go of him and sat back up.

"Would you like to go back inside?" Edward said generously as Belle sat back down. Edward had noticed that the grass was starting to dry up. Maybe it was from a dry summer. Then again, it was in the middle of fall. And wasn't Forks supposed to be raining 24/7? I blame global warming Edward though

Belle nodded a bit, then looked over at the grass, "Sure. Funny how the grass is dry today... It's usually pretty wet here, right?" she asked, her eyes meeting Edward's. He would remember back to when her eyes were green, when she was human. Now, they were the same golden color as everyone else's in the Cullen family.

"Yeah it is usually raining here in Forks. Its weird how we haven't got a drop of rain in weeks." Edward said as they were walking toward the front door. "I blame global warming and humans who pollute the air" Edward laughed as he opened the front door to the house. "Ladies first" he said politely, as usual

Belle nodded, "That's probably it." she looked up at him and smiled, "You're probably right. As usual." she stepped into the house and tossed her hair back over her shoulder and smiled back at him, "Thanks, Edward." the right corner of her mouth lifted in a gentle smile, one of the leaves from the trees outside still on top of her head.

"Belle, hun you have a leave in your hair." Edward said while pulling it off the top of her head. He laughed and threw it back outside. Edward closed the door behind him and walked into the living room where everyone was giving him a blank stare as he walked in. "Did I interrupt something?" Edward asked in a half sarcastic tone.
