Bella's face seemed confused and a little distressed. While she had endured abuse of her own from her parents, it hadn't been physical. She pushed herself up and followed Jason out, sort of leaving Zane in a state of 'what-the-heck-just-happened'. She sort of limped from one side of her body being asleep still, then in one of her infamous spells of clumsiness, sort of fell onto Jason's back before he knew she was there. She was still pretty weak from lack of energy, and it took her a second to gather up the energy just to say "Please..." before she collapsed again. This time more from severe hunger than anything else.

Kyira now sat on her Hot Topic clothing pile, yelling at the wall and counting things. She really hated Bella's constant self pity on people sometimes. She was totally different from Bella, yet she could be best friends with her? Too weird some might say.
Marcello was fixing something on the little stove majigger and was fixing Bella something to drink while Kyira got mad at the world. He'd dealt with Kyira for a while now, but she still had the temper that could make Hitler shiver.

Jason turned around just in time to catch her. he sighed softly to himself and picked her up in his arms, carrying her back to the others. he set her down close to the food. he then looked to marcello and zane. "make sure she eat when she wakes up... i'll get going now before i overstay my welcome" he said glancing to kyira. "i know i'm not wanted" he said solomnly as he walked back outside and into the freezing air. he wrapped his arms around himself trying to keep warm and walked foward. he wasn't the type to stay in a place he wasn't wanted, and he was as unwanted here as he was anywhere else before the world ended.

Zane stood and put his hand on Jason's shoulder, stopping him from going, "OK, as much as Kyira doesn't like you, Bella does. And Marcello is always going to go along with whatever Bella wants. And I know that we are all miserable as long as Bella is." He looked over at Bella, who seemed to not be at peace, "Do you have any idea how bad it hurts us when Bella is in pain, trying to pretend everything is OK when we know we could have done something to prevent it? Kyira's out voted. You stay."

Marcello walked over to where Zane stood.
"My brother's right. Kyira is just hard headed, she can't take losing a batlle. She did have it hard before her parents died and she really would trade your life for her's, but just give her time to cool down. She's got on hell of an temper."
Kyira grunted and tossed a shoe at Marcello which he neatly dodged.

Jason looked at zane. "how can i be sure you guys won't change your mind tomorrow and try to kill me?" he asked staring right at zane's eyes. "let me just say it wouldn't be anything new to me" he said pointing to a deep scar that went over his right eye. it was surprizing he wasn't blind in that eye from that sort of injury. "i thought being in a gang was the only way for me to survive. well the next day they got annoyed with me and tried to kill me in my own home" he said quietly.

Zane shook his head, "Marcello and I are pick-pockets, not street thugs. Besides, Bella is a lot stronger than she looks when it comes to her power over us. You don't have to worry as long as you don't hurt her. Or anyone else in our group. We look out for each other: it's the way things have always been."
Bella stirred a bit in her sleep, sort of frowning involuntarily, "No... s-stay..." She whispered in a sort of distressed manner, clinging onto the blanket around her desperately.
"Bella wants you to stay." He half smiled in an attempt to be friendly.

Jason sighed. "fine i'll stay. you don't have to worry about me hurting anyone. my power may be used mostly for destruction, but i don't fight unless i must." he said. on a closer look at his face, the eye with the injury was a more pale gold. he may not be blind in that eye, but it wasn't as strong as his other one. He slowly walked back in and sat down among his instruments. he still felt like an outsider around the others. that feeling wouldn't change very easily. after all, he had only known them for a day...

Marcello smiled too. He wanted Bella happy, no matter what.
Another shoe flew at Marcello, this time he caught it and sighed.
"Kyira, bad, no more!"
He threw the shoe and hit her knocking her backwards to mumble something like 'jerk.'
Kyira stood and walked to Bella's side, pulling a hot dog off the stove thing and sticking it in front of her face.
"Awaken oh great beast!"

Bella's eyes opened slowly, as if she were forcing herself to wake, "Hm... wh-what happened?" She saw the food in Kyira's hand and scarfed it down as quick as lightning. She looked around, her smile brightening as she saw Jason, "You stayed!" she screamed in excitement.
Zane chuckled, "I think he's feeling a bit left out. Why don't you give him the essential information on everyone? You know us all so well anyway."
Bella nodded, and taking a handful of curly fries with her, pointed to each person as she talked about them< "Marcello is Zane's older brother. He's pretty much been the dad of our group since day one, since he is quite obviously more mature than Zane. Zane and Marcello were pick-pockets and thieves when we met them and since being with us are on the straight and narrow. Zane's favorite color is periwinkle because he thinks it's fun to say and if you poke his nose, he blushes. Kyira is a bit of a street thug and would probably just as son kill you as look at you and she's the mom/bodyguard of the group, but somehow, I'm just here."
Zane laughed, "No, you just control our lives. No biggie."

Kyira sat cross legged and stared at Bella. She was strange....very strange.
Marcello chuckled at Bella.
"I didn't know you considered me the dad of the group."
Kyira smiled.
"I know what each of us are. I'm the boss, Marcello is the guard dog, Bella is a garbage disposal and Zane's the b****!"

Ash walked into their shelter, the expression of a frightened rabbit on his face as his teeth chattered together. He looked around at all the people... all the powers ripe for the taking... a look of surprise crossed his face, "People!" he breathed in shock, "I didn't know anyone was alive!" He smiled excitedly, hugging the small blonde girl and the emo girl at the same time, "This is such a pleasant surprise!" despite his friendliness and kind personality, he had a dark mysteriousness hanging about him. Everyone knew that Bella wouldn't see it, though. She always saw the best in everyone.

Jason nodded as he listened rather intently to bella's descriptions. when he saw the new guy flames appeared in his hands almost instantly. bella usually saw the best, but jason always expected the worst. it took him a long time to warm up to other people. bella he got used to pretty fast but hey, bella was impossible to see as bad. she was too cute and adorabe and loveable to be evil. He couldn't help but trust her. everyone had to open up to someone. for jason, bella was that someone. he still wasn't too sure of kyira, marcello, and zane, but her he trusted.

Bella laughed a bit at this new boy's sudden outburst, "Yah, we were surprised, too." She blushed and pushed a lock of hair out of her face. It would seem as though today was a good day for finding people. She did, as expected, immediately assume that this boy had only the best of intentions and was good all the way to the core. Zane, on the other hand, was a little distrusting of this kid. Jason, he trusted. Even if only a little. This boy had a strange, almost ominous air about him that Zane couldn't help but be a little unnerved by. He pushed Ash's arm off of Kyira, standing almost in front of her protectively.

Kyira didn't like this kid, not a bit. Nor did Marcello, but he would never show it, not in front of Bella, never in front of Bella.
"Zane...I don't like this kid...I don't like him being around Bella especially..." Kyira whispered from behind him.
For a first, she felt a small pang of fear, not for herself but for everyone else. She hid herself better behind Zane, silently grabbing his arm gently.
Marcello stood closer to Bella, not wanting to show his distrust, but to make sure he was close enough...just in case.
